Yeah, there is always the chance that things don't work, but €200 isn't gonna break the bank and should be easy enough to move on if need be. Sometimes you have to just find out for yourself. |

Brilliant, I love it when a bit of cheek works out. Not sure how you're connecting your digital chain but I'm using Belden 1694A coax with Canare plugs (2x 0.5M) Node2 to 2014 & 2014 to Jolida. All I would say is let it warm up for an hour or 2 before making any sort of judgement, especially if it's not been used for a while like mine. Yes it made a small but discernable difference from the outset, but it really opened up and did its thing after being on for an hour or so. If it does nothing for yout rig, give me a shout as I wouldn't mind cascading it with mine (as some of the Mutec boys are doing) to see what if anything happens. Would also be interesting to play with inter-unit connection types. |

You know, a few days ago, the only link in my entire system that doesn't have Belden shielded mains cable was the link from wall socket to distribution block. It's about 7" in length and as part of my efforts to get the system complete, I bought the materials to make the last link. I did so, using the same plugs as every other cable I have made, plugged it in and I can't listen to the system. There is a really prominent change to the bass. Like someone is stamping in the floor boards at the same time as every bass note is played. I thought I was imagining it, but putting my big standard kettle lead back in returned things to normal. If I were to measure that cable, Vs the Belden one...I suspect there would be a nothing to explain it, but I have swapped back and forth a fair few times and the effect really is very real and very easy to hear. If anyone has any insight, I'd be happy to hear it. Also, if someone knows of a Measurable test I could perform, id happily publish the results. If you have a space heater you can connect it to and run that for 24 hours, then pop it back in to see if there is any difference. I threw one of these on a 1000-1800W portable ceramic heater and connect to a new mains lead for a day or two before putting into my HiFi.

Yeah, not a bad idea. It seems slightly better today. Played a bit of vinyl and it seemed to have calmed down, but it was Sh#t yesterday. Maybe it needs a bit of time. |

And meanwhile back at Lurch towers..... I neither know nor care how this Audio-GD DI-2014 does it's thing, it could transport the signal on thixotropic cheese sauce or a chain of chickens armpits for all I know. What I do know is, it was £170 well spent and I'm thoroughly enjoying the sonic effect it appears to have had on my system. I know you're a man of fine taste, so this gadget excites me a lot. £170 seems like peanuts for something in this domain. Must admit, I have a hankering to try an PI2AES too. Although it appears they are no longer being made. Well done for diving in and having a blind punt. I love that sort of thing. Not seen this? Don’t click here….. |

Well, the muted did not come out well in his review.
I would be tempted, depending on if the Audio-GD does something.
The original plan was to buy the cheap one to investigate, and upgrade to the DI-20HE at some point…
