Let's see what you find that's an audio bargain.

I hadn't noticed. They aren't a favourite of mine either, although pricing can be variable and a keen price can be found amongst the less attractive ones. They have a tatty pair of Spica Angelus that I'd like to have agin at a lower price. So much wrong with them that I'd spend more again than they are asking just to make them decent.

I always look at the seller, and were in the uk they are based. I've never seen a bargain from that particular seller, but seen a lot of tat.

For me too ugly so would not give it house room Paul, although I'm sure it's decent sounding.

I believe so too. I have a mate who loves Colin's stuff, especially the Inca Designs Class A stuff. I never got to hear the last one he had and he fell on hard times temporarily and had to sell. He's still looking for a replacement.

Rare to find at all these days, they may be a bit tatty but wouldn't be too hard to pretty up. If a cheaper pair pop up used, I will grab them as a spare pair. I have some modding ideas that could be fun!

Are they over priced in your opinion Westie. The reason I ask, maybe looking for a pair of speakers for tv duties when we move. When the time comes will start a new thread for speakers with vocal clarity.

That's usually about the right money, although this pair look a bit shabby. It may well just be surface muck though, the material,on the front is made from horse blankets so it should wash OK as long as you don't use really hot water and shrink it. It sjust lightly tacked on with glue. Grille fabric is easy to replace although you will need the thin stuff if you want them stock.
Spicas only have the triangular side cheeks veneered, so they are very easy to smarten up. The only thing I'd say with Spicas is that they work best with space around them.

I do my know a great deal, about them. I expect Dave (DSJR) will know more. I always deeply respected Notts Analogue products. ALL their arms work properly with Deccas and without uncontrolled wobbling like the ARO, so no more to be said really

"Please, no pick up" - Seems strange for a pair of speakers.

"Please, no pick up" - Seems strange for a pair of speakers. Given the state of the speakers, he may be ashamed of his gaff I'm a bit concerned about the "ripple" towards the top rear of one. Looks like they have been exposed to some serious moisture or maybe even dropped. Still, you have buyer protection, I suppose. Part of me wants to buy them just to restore. I do that a lot, especially with things I love.
