I'm pleased you understood Oli, thought I might be going daft, but no it's the OP. What has an ECC88 got to do with my BB3? People may think it is an alternative for a PCC88.

Nothing at all Cagey, you must have a problem reading English these days, I asked are these any good, Bigman came back with, "they could have been made by Telefunken, and my post has nothing to do with ECC88, but the fact the seller states "similar to Lorenz" which I assume is a good sign for Lorenz valves. Sorry, I did not think it was to difficult to grasp, but that's forums for yer. And it Goodnight from me

So why post it in this particular thread about a BB3? The fact it is the wrong type of valve may lead to someone fitting one if they find this post. That is all. If you asked if Lorenz were any good, that would be a different question, as people assume that a PCC88 is a replacement for the ECC88, hence me clearly stating it is an ECC88. You posted a link to an ECC88, so your post has everything to do with an ECC88. Is Lorenz any good? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C._Lorenz_AGAnother German manufacturer. That particular valve may be good, but not in a BB3. However, I don’t want to fall out over something so petty.

I can see how the valve option could be misconstrued, so I'll shift it to a separate thread for valve related goodies.

That particular valve may be good, but not in a BB3. However, I don’t want to fall out over something so petty. That post is in your BB3 thread because it related to my earlier suggestion asking if these PCC88's were any good, read again PCC88's Bigman's reply suggested Lorenz could have been made by Telefunken - my thinking was Bigman thought this was a positive, Tele's having a good reputation I then posted a link regarding LORENZ valves, I do not mention ECC88's, read what I put in the post, the ad stated ECC88 RFT similar to Lorenz, but it could have been any valve ie 12AU7 RFT similar to Lorenz, why are you obsessed with ECC88's How many threads mention somewhere a different product, ie someone asks about an LP12, and it's performance, as the thread moves along someone states the price of a Roksan Xerxes in 1987 was £388, does the op suddenly start with," my thread is about the LP12", why is a Roksan mentioned, but the post is not talking about the performance of the Roksan, it's given as a price reference. If you did not want to 'fall out', although it would take more than this for me to fall out with you Kevin, it would never bother me if you disagreed with anything I say, at least I was trying to help, asking if these valves were any good, you did ask if anyone saw something to let you know. Surely you must have felt 'I've got the wrong end of the stick here' when Bigman liked my post in reference to the RFT likened to the Lorenz. No harm done, Oli will be moving all of this, and then it will be as though it never happened, and we can get back to posting (and having a laugh) as usual.

The more tubes you have the more work you're gonna make for your self. We will be expecting a fully detailed review on every single valve and how it sounds in the BB3.

Well, as posted elsewhere on here, R11P has been changed to a 1% 390k resistor, and yes, the BB3 still sounds great with the Tunsgram valve compliment. I suppose I should add that I also changed the feet for IsoPuck Minis. Not sure they add anything, as I can’t be bothered to swap them out again to find out.

I have a minor problem with my BB3 with noise on the RH channel, but only when using the MM input. Could this be down to a dodgy LED, or is it likely to be something else in the MM circuit?
