I have had the PCB stashed away for a while, waiting for another lock down to get stuck in, et voila, here we are. I have most of the parts, I just need some decent output capacitors that I will order in a few weeks.
An O-ring transformer has been ordered from James.
One thing I need is a case. It needs to be black. What is the minimum size I need to build this in? Obviously, I want it to be quiet, and suffer no mains noise, so from those of you who have built them, please let me have your thoughts.
Oli has sent me a link to the case he uses, but it is silver....

I have found a 2609:case for less than €40 posted. The same dimensions as Paul used, so this should be ok, and it is black.

Case is ordered. Need to sort out another set of RCA sockets, as I want to use loading plugs. Then I need a bit of UP-OCC cable, and I should be good to go.

I can only recommend the Clarity Cap CMR caps, as they are the very best I've tried. The critical caps and resistors will be matched up this week and we'll get them over to you. That Traffo is about 111mm² so make sure you have enough room. I don't like the Traffo too close to the PCB. Other than that, it's a pretty straight forward build. Oh! I'll send you a 7805 too, as some of them are not up to the task!!!

I am going to have to order a white BB sticker as well, although that is not mandatory.

If that does not work, search for 2609:chassis black. It is in the Shop911613439 Store.

Viborg RCA sockets ordered. Now to wait several weeks for delivery..... You'll be up and running in no time. I've just taken delivery of 100 caps in each of the values you'll need, so I'll be sifting them later this week. They should be with you before the sockets 🤣🤣

Viborg RCA sockets ordered. Now to wait several weeks for delivery..... Have you ordered from AliExpress?, does it always take several weeks to get to France. When I ordered something it took less than two weeks to the uk. Just looked on AE, bloody hell they're expensive, the cheapest I'v seen for 4 sockets, gold plated $86.70

The same seller I used for the sockets for my amp. If they are fake, they are very good fakes, as they come in all the original packaging, but thanks for the warning. I have ordered the case from AE. The case is usually about €80, but for some reason, this one is cheap. Mainly due to the free postage.

GD-Parts are a very reliable AliExpress shop. They seem to stock the genuine articles.
Only think that puts me off those Viborg RCA sockets is that they Silver plate them before the gold plate.
"This means that component will actually be a composition of silver, copper and nickel substrate layers with a final gold layer added on top"
Probably just me that cares about that though lol
Hope they arrive swiftly, K

I think it will make bugger all difference when you start adding in soldered connections to the system. The pure copper sockets will gradually oxidise, and I can’t be bothered to strip the system down to clean everything up.

I've got a Viborg plug set on my AE watch list, the seller is Viborg though.

They are expensive on AE. I can buy them from Audiophonics for the same price, or less.

My cheap case was too good to be true. It was not sent, so AliExpress cancelled the order.
I have just ordered a slightly more expensive one.

What is the best product to use to isolate the transistors and regulators from the heat sinks? I have some thermal compound, but I am wondering if this is suitable.
