I've still got to go and see an hearing specialist, I did post about a problem I had when living abroad, although it has got much better, but I still feel there maybe a slight problem.

jimbo This explains a lot 🤣 Only joking of course ☺️ Microsuction is awesome isnt it. I used to get mine done on the NHS every 6 months because I produce a lot of wax, but when COVID hit I couldn't get it done for about two years. I used a spray from Boots that was recommended and to be honest it was very effective, however, like you I found one ear blocked up regardless. I had been aware there was an issue for a few weeks as I was struggling to tune my guitar by ear. In fact, I ended up buying a tuner and it still wasn't sounding right. That always used to be a red flag, and I'd make an appointment. I called a guy in Wolverhampton. The "Ear Wax Doc" Got me in the same day and sure enough, loads of wax. He did a great job. I came home, and like you, i had to change a few bits of the system. It really is a very wise idea to get these devices maintained more often. I mean, some of us are deoxit-ing our plugs every 3 months yet don't give the ears a second thought. Glad you've had an upgrade in sound....cheap as chips too I'd expect?

Haha I thought I was treading dodgy ground admitting I had a hearing issue lol. The microsuction clinic was in Wolverhampton and it was probably the best ££££ I have ever spent on my system! £65 for two!

No audiophile wants to admit they they were deaf and didn't know! Maybe a couple of cables need reassessing? Or did you do that post ear op?

No audiophile wants to admit they they were deaf and didn't know! Maybe a couple of cables need reassessing? Or did you do that post ear op? Very true mate! I did change a a cable or two but also adjusted the speakers as you know the Hecos have a linear and +2 treble lift. I had it on the +2 so went back to linear. Perfect. What surprised me the most was the missing tonal frequencies. The top end and loudness were minor issues by comparison. I am glad you mentioned tuning your guitar as this confirms it was the tone aspects that were most noticeable. Because i could not hear some frequencies whole bunch of info was missing. Very strange mate . When corrected it was like I had twice as much information in the recording!

Probably best to use the proper stuff. A small tube will probably last a lifetime.

That spray from Boots was brilliant. I couldn’t get microsuction whilst Fiona was shielding (sounds like a euphemism but you know what I mean!!), so used the boots spray. Took a little while but really effective. Sadly I don’t seem to be able to get it anymore. So it’s off for microsuction for me too! After this weekend we are lifting our own self inflicted restrictions, so looking forward to it too.
