Ironic? Doesn't have to be. All depends on your point of view, I'd say. Some obviously look at them in a negative light; others take the opposite view seeing some merit in them. I'd put myself in this category.
Maybe you just haven't heard any decent ones.

If I ever go back overseas, I will get a pair of gloss white Planets. Their design simply works better in highly reflective rooms and they look gorgeous to me. That music sounds like a recording taken from factory machinery.

Would help if he played some music on them instead of that racket.

Yep exactly. Were not really interested in that rubbish in his cabinet either. The video quickly turns into a 'Look What Ive Got' tour

Hard to judge anything from these videos as it is and the ripping distortion doesn't help.

It is pretty. But I don't know, something about that front panel reminds me of early Amstrad.

It looks a little more 'sober' compared to a Leben.

Quite enjoyed this video. S. Not sure you'd enjoy the speakers though. At least they don't take fillings out.. Add up the boxes and cost the systems out - and then look at a pair of active ATC 50ASL's and cost these out as well

Bit surprised he doesn't mention or refer to floors - wooden v concrete - in particular, which alone can have a large impact on the sound of a room.
A good case for headphone listen, then.

Bit surprised he doesn't mention or refer to floors - wooden v concrete - in particular, which alone can have a large impact on the sound of a room. A good case for headphone listen, then. Even with 10, 0000 Euros budget he can't fix the problem of a suspended floor so I suppose that's why he doesn't bring it up. Two issues I have with what he says: 1) the more treatment the better - no, you can go too far. The ultimate damped room is an anechoic chamber and you don't want to be listening in one of those. 2) Pursuit of flat in room response - which will sound too toppy. You want the FR raised in the bass and gradually sloping down to the top end to allow for hearing sensitivity.

I'd definitely agree about too much treatment Macca. We get some bass suck out and a slight drop in HF in our room which I found difficult to believe, we do not have heavy furnishings on carpeting on the floor. I have never seen anyone mention your point 2, this is not to say I don't believe you.

We get some bass suck out and a slight drop in HF in our room which I found difficult to believe, we do not have heavy furnishings on carpeting on the floor. I have never seen anyone mention your point 2, this is not to say I don't believe you. Point 2 refers to the 'House Curve' ''When you have flattened out the analyzer’s display curve as much as possible, you’re done with this portion of the adjustments. But you’re nowhere near finished. When you play music through your system at this point, you might not be completely pleased with the result. With the equalizer you have compensated for all sorts of factors, but you have also run up against an important psychoacoustic effect: Flat response doesn’t sound all that great to most people."
More hear www.hometheatershack.com/forums/rew-forum/96-house-curve-what-why-you-need-how-do.htmlIn an typical domestic room you''ll get bass enhancement from the boundaries, and the furniture, carpet and curtains (and any clutter) will absorb and scatter some of the higher frequencies. You design a speaker to have a flat response in an anechoic chamber so that when it goes in a typical room it will gain bass and lose high frequency and essentially give a 'house curve' , which is what will sound 'best' to the vast majority of people. This is because we are more sensitive to higher frequencies than to low ones. So we will perceive the sound as being 'balanced' i.e having neither too much nor too little bass or top.
