Assange? Tell the yanks to take a hike!!
Julian Assange exposed the truth. America doesn't like it and wants vengance. That people in other countries should be handed over to them for 'punishment' is disgraceful! It's not as if he's a terrorist, and terrorism was the main basis for the extradition agreements the US made around the world.

And on the flip side of the coin he compromised a number of anti-terrorist operations which led to the deaths of several agents involved. Naïve idiot, deserves all he gets.

That's not alleged in the charges he faces as far as I've seen. The FBI are good at finding 'truths' to fit their arguments, I personally wouldn't trust anything they claim.

No it isn't in the charge. At the moment. I think they intend to get him back to the USA and then work out how to throw the book at him.
Not that I really care whether he ends up in Gitmo or sitting on a beach earning ten percent but he was still a fool to put all that info in the public domain.
7 years in the Ecuadorian Embassy have not been kind to him though. He looked about 35 when he went in, now he looks like an old pensioner.

Hie mental state didn’t seem to be great either. He looked like he’d lost touch with reality. Not surprising I suppose. I hope Macca’s mate comes away from his stay in better shape.

He was never in touch with reality if you ask me. Pissing of the yanks is almost as bad as pissing off the Ruskies. They don't tend to let Sh#t lie. What did he think was going to happen?

What an embarrassing lack of subtlety.
Our government and many MP's pushing for Assange's deportation to Sweden to face the previously dropped rape charges. I wondered if something like this might occur. It allows the UK to wash its hands of the US extradition request and largely avoid the stir that would cause.
I anticipate the Swedes will go along with this and reactivate the previous charges and request extradition. Whether they agree to ship him off to the yanks after they've dealt with him will of course remain to be seen, but I think they would be pressured to do so.
I'd expect some behind the scenes negotiations to be going on, the UK will be pushing America to go along with this and Sweden will likely just go with the flow.

I expect that their research shows the vast majority of voters don't give a monkeys so my guess is they'll go along with what the Yanks want.
If Sweden were going to reactivate the rape charge then I'd have thought they would have said something by now. My guess is they would rather stay out of it. Just like in WW2.

I see that the Ecuadorians complaints about Assange were that he was not cleaning up after his cat and that he was skateboarding down the corridors. No doubt he was also swinging on their gate and leaving empty crisp packets on the lawn. Although that's not mentioned.

I saw that, the thing is he looked stooped and wrecked, I can’t see him walking well unaided let alone grinding down handrails and pulling off 360s. Are they sure it wasn’t the cat that was skateboarding? I’d be more inclined to believe that.

Could be putting on an act to gain sympathy. The old 'I'm a sick old man you can't send me to jail' routine. Worked for Earnest Saunders, the only man in history to recover from Alzheimer's.
And what has happened to the cat? Has it had its collar felt too? I didn't see them bringing it out.

It’s sad that any landmark building/tourist attraction should burn down, but the way they are going on, you’d think it was some major world disaster. No doubt they will take decades and pour hundreds of millions into restoring it. Why not level the thing and build something more useful?

It's a shame it burnt, but I'm not religeous, have no interest in history or architecture, so really it has no great significance to me. They'll need the land anyway, to house all the defeated terrorists now heading out of Libya towards Europe in the guise of refugee migrants and who will undoubtedly get to Paris in large numbers.

I'd swear somebody has been tinkering with the forum 'skin' colour.

Yep, I must admit I find it much easier on the eye than white. I make far fewer typos this way as the glare is lower. I also love purple and I found the green and mustard a bit bland. Every forum seems to have a colour as it’s ID. I like Blue too, but the only nice blue skin here has been used by TAS already and I didn’t want us to be a clone or copycat. The other blue looks like Audio Talk/HFS. The other colours are YUK.

I sprained it a couple of days ago and it's a lovely shade of purplish mauve.

Definitely Jesus. You'd think he'd have put the fire out while he was there, mind. But I suppose he's got a full schedule, there was only time for quick meet and greet.

The generic depiction of Jesus is nonsense anyway. Nobody really knows what he looked like (assuming such a person actually did exist). I suspect he may have been short, dark, bandy and balding with a big shonk.

I can see where ERG are coming from although they are asking for the moon on a stick and I don't see the point of that as they'll never get it.
As for the DUP, We should have a referendum on whether to cut Northern Ireland loose from the UK and just leave them to sort out their own problems.

The links in the footer (below the ads) are pretty much illegible - there may be an option to change the link colours, though. The previous scheme was easy to read but did remind me of a provincial bus livery...
