Sold for £1,042, that's what I call a bargain. How much are they new? About £3,800? That's a lot of amp for the money. Is this the model you have Rob?
It's currently very much a buyers market I think.

It's currently very much a buyers market I think. Yeah, they were around that new, or defo no less than £3.5k for donkies years and were regarded as a great amp for that money. The Hautonga, I believe is its replacement / the 'updated' version - same 200 wpc @ 8 ohms etc etc and that currently retails at around £6.2- 6.5k. Excellent amp the 9200, in fact best I've owned and raised the bar over the others I've had, and I've had some pretty decent pieces. £1k is a silly bargain for one of those, in terms of what you get - indeed, defo a buyers market at present, it's been around a while and not everyone became aware of the Plinius, they were more readily available in New Zealand, where they are from, and the US, where the word got round as well.

Bargains everywhere right now. Why do they always come along when I'm even more skint than the seller?

Could be fine of course, but the 'seller' has bought two items in 4 years and never sold a thing. Hence a feedback score of two . . . . would worry me a bit to be fair.

Lol, dont need em, as I have their replacement, the D7. The D7s are more precise and lively, as opposed to traditional, slightly laid, back, smooth, non fatiguing characteristics of Spendor - Still Spendor though, maybe a bit more dynamic. If I had the space and money I'd defo be tempted to bag em, just to try for fun and then move on for double. They were a very popular and well regarded speaker - bonkers cheap, especially if all is fine with them.

Yep, of course - standard common sense behaviour always applies - you'd have to tread careful as always, and why so ridiculously cheap ?? If I was interested in them, starting some kind of dialogue would be a must, just for starters, lots of questions and go from there - He's in Cambridge, I'd ask if he'd be happy for me to view/hear, etc etc, more pics of drivers (some main drivers did have a 'leak' issue).

Think these Spendor STs look like a good deal too. I don't know how to link to the listing, but they're on Ebay for £1,799. They were about £7k originally.

Of course it is, but I would say that wouldn't I. Why the second outputs bypassing the buffer stage were fitted I don't know, probably a belief in the myth that cathode follower stages are no good.

There's always someone who thinks they can do it better...
I had one for a few years but I swapped it for a Sony X555ES when I abandoned vinyl.

Hmm!! Just down the road from me. A definite bargain by the looks!! Pretty sure they won't be on a par with Ektas, as Ektas use extremely high end mid and bass drivers and easily mix with £10—15k speakers. Still, at £400—475 they are a bargain. Cabinets look OK in the pics, but it can be difficult to tell.

not a three-way though. Price isn't bad for what you're getting but don't think I would go there.

That's a lotta speaker for the money, he's massively underpriced those.
