Had the use of my mates woodshop so I've made a new plinth π That looks sweet, would be worth getting a can of this Trscos etc or flabay, is what I use on my 401 plinth. Treats the Wood and leaves a nice satin sheen. Needs a couple of coats initially, after which it's an as and when jobbie.

So I was playing some vinyl today and discovered I have a dodgy right channel cable which a quick fiddle confirmed the plug was dodgy so I'm going to replace the phono cables it looks fairly easy but what cables do I use seen these on amz any good ? 1STec 1.5m Twin Red + White Moulded RCA Plugs to Bare Wire Ends for Vinyl Player Shielded OFC + Earth Conductors stops Hum Humming Buzz Buzzing Feedback Noise from Amp - HiFi speakers (1.5 Metre) amzn.eu/d/71XYHgc

If its only a dodgy plug. Snip the plugs off and solder on a pair of Neutrik Rean rca plugs. Is easier than replacing whole cable as wires inside arm are thinner than hair.

There's a connector bloc on the underside apparently with spade connectors like this one you just swap them over I've not looked to check yet tho

Just having a look and it's the same should there be a a ground to the tone arm ? As it's missing I would image that big screw through the centre terminal is grounding the arm to the chassis. If you're changing the wire, just do like for like wiring. I'd solder as those spades are naff, but if you can't solder...spades will have to do.

Just an update on the duel I've now swapped out the headshell for one from a later model as the 1/2" quick release adapter plate on the old one was a bit wobbly and made the tone arm sit way too high I was bound to break it sooner or later anyhoo !! bit of micro soldering and some heat shrink and I'm blown away by how good it sounds don't now why though I'm not touching it now !!!
