I nearly bought a Sumo pre-power years ago, think it was only about £350 for the pair. Suppose that would be about £700 in today's money, but still cheap. Was from The Emporium back before they started asking silly money for everything.
Chickened out when I read that they were not up to much. Obviously these days I don't pay any attention to other people's opinions I just buy it and try it.

Preamp not so much, and quite brash.

never had a go on one of those so I don't know. I have. A mate had one, pretty bland sound. Quad 306 would walk all over it!

Aye' 306 are a great little power amp that go for a song imho.. Another good thing is they have a power on/off button where as other Qwads rely on the Pre amp for switching.. I fell out with the '405' when my old Technics 'SUV-4X' walked all over it. Technics AA do things better see.

Your Avatar reminds me of the Van Der Graaf Generator logo that John Pasche designed for the 'Godbluff' album, later used also on the 'Still Life' & 'World Records' albums...

W#nk isn't it? Couldn't be arsed to cock about with it anymore tonight. I'll check the plug and fuse tomorrow.
He wouldn't have brought it back to me if it wasn't working perfectly so It's a bit odd.

Oh and I've just had a new front door fitted today and that doesn't seem to want to lock. It's only the outer door so it isn't a security problem, but I mean for F#ck's sake.
I suppose it's all first world problems.

Gutted for you mate. Wait ages then DOA. Honestly, if it isn't something simple, get Alan on it. At least you still have the 100 and that ain't to shabby.

The krell does have at least one fuse, but the power switch on the front is merely a trigger for another soft-start circuit nearby to engage by relay. With any luck, it's a fuse or possibly a ribbon connector become dislodged.
That Neurochrome isn't a cheap amp and I reckon you spent over two grand getting it to your door? OK, by Naim standards it's cheap...
