Still using Dali Speakers. Same Denon AMP/CD combo. If I don't bother with Audiolab 6000A, I might go back to a Sugden Class A.

They are really nice amps and damn capable too. I liked the mk2 even better, although I can’t rememeber whether it was an SE now. It was about £800-900. I only bought it to help out a guy overseas. He’d bought some stuff off me and the UK seller of the Sugden wouldn’t ship to him. I bought it for him and passed it on at cost. The upside for me was getting to use it for a couple of days. It was a lovely thing.

It could have been the Sugden A21a Series 2 that you bought for the chap.
The current incarnation is the A21 Signature. Then, there's the more expensive bigger bother - A21SE Signature.

I think that’s right. Some people have said the mk2 is less musical. I thought it was a more sure footed and accomplished amp.

I agree with that description. I could happily live with one forever.

Nothing in my system has changed for 6 months....wow! Still using budget tier Denon ''PMA-710'' series amp/cd combo, driving little Dali Spektor 1.
The system sounds pretty decent. This might possibly be one of the most satisfying systems I've put together.
How long will it last?, time will tell, lol.

Interesting in that it’s one of the cheapest systems you’ve had. You think it’s the Dalis you like? I’ve never heard any of that make.,

Thing is I don't know really. My Dad also complimented how decent the system sounds. I still think the amp/cd can take on a much more expensive speaker.

Might pick up an Audiolab 6000a Integrated amp in a few weeks. If I do buy it I'll report my findings.

Btw I really like the styling. Just as nice in black, which is rare for me to think.

There's also the larger 8300A integrated. More power etc. But no built in DAC though.

You’ve had a few Sugdens in your time. Do you think you will go there again?

You’re right. If someone told me I’d own another pair of Petite 3s I’d have laughed at them. As for a Pink Triangle DAC, I’d have thought that impossible. I do like the A21 range though. Way better than most integrateds.

Will no longer be getting the Audiolab.
I'm going to continue using my Denon Amp & CD Player. It's budget tier but sounds decent enough. The Denon could be all the amp I ever need!
Next I'd like to possibly venture the 'Oberon' range by Dali. Looking at the Dali Oberon 1. My Dad uses the floor-standing Oberon 5. They sound very good.

The Denon is average at best. But I like it.
There's a few more amps I'd love to try.
Sonneteer Alabaster. Roksan Kandy K3. Another Sudgen A21a or series 2.

If I spot a Campion going near by, I'll snap it up. But I understand the Campion is not meant for hard to drive speakers. I remember Richard (AKA-Gromit) saying his Campion didn't get the best out of cheap Q Acoustic 2010i Speakers.

Neats usually need a bit of poke. Alabaster is meant t have more drive but is said to lose some of what the Campion has. I would certainly hear an Alabaster but I don’t think I could find a better amp in terms of what I like. Some really small speakers need to be thrashed to open up. I tend not to like that sort of sound. That’s always how I imagined the Q Acoustics. The value looks good but they appear a bit plastic for me.

Gromit's best results was using a large Sony amp to get those little Q's dancing.

Picked up an Audiolab 8000A. Looks to be in decent nick. Always wanted to try the 8000A. The build quality is average at best, but realistic. Has a bit of weight to it which indicates a decent transformer.

Maybe made from a different plastic? The fascia looked and felt better too.
