Looks a tidy little number.
I am quite taken with mine!

It is - total cost for the bath and the record holder/rotator came to £160 so a bargain Use the Knosti Disco-Antistat tray to drip dry them - air drying takes about 15 minutes or so!

Same set up as mine and weirdly enough I've been cleaning records as well, trying to make some floor space in the listening room.

Won't be using my system for some time as decorating and changing the room layout - removing the arch to install a door frame and sliding doors to separate the rooms more. Current state of the system: The arch (after stripping back the wall paper) Arch now removed ready for measuring and ordering of the timber:

I always fancied a parquet floor. Never going to happen now.
If you fancy a parquet floor do it while you're still young.

Yes I'd pay someone. No way I could lay a floor. It would look like a blind man or a young child had given it their best shot.
It's just all the upheaval it involves. I'm not good with upheaval.

To change the flooring from carpet to anything else would also require the central heating pipes to be moved so forget that. Separate the music room from the middle room will be it for this year (I hope...)

Dunno what you lot are complaining about, my wife asked about getting her inner walls decorated, didn't take long, but she said I was far too quick Naughty

Finally finished the decorating off the music room and put the system back in, but moved things around (and replaced a few things). Listened to Tidal through the PI with the R-2R DAC (sounding very good) while putting everything back. Noticed that on power on, the valve amp is no longer 'humming' while it warms up so another win Bring down the albums now and put one on later (I hope)

4 albums in now with the BB3 and so far i'm liking what I am hearing So, the current spec of the system I am listening too is: Goldring Elite MC Cartridge (another bargain IMO for what you get) Pete's (off of AOB forum) cartridge thingy - spacer and separates the cartridge from the arm like the Houdini) SME V arm (serviced by SME) Michell Orbe with Pete's Pylons, Pete's replacement feet (isolation) and a clear acrylic platter (using a special mix to lube the bearing) BB3 Myryad Z40 pre-amp (bargain of the century IMO) Pure Sound A30 (running as a power amp) Reiver Jenna loudspeakers Sounding sublime

What valves are in the BB3?

Not sure - hope Scotty can pipe in (will have a look tomorrow when it's powered down) The boxes with the spare valves (Tesla) say National (matched pair) so I assume that is what is in the amp

Is the cartridge découpler sorbothane? I don’t know exactly how the Houdini is made, but I think it is more complex than that. The important thing is that it works.
If I can find the replacement 3M glue film, I am going to try the Houdini on my Music Maker, to see if it is more effective than the Isolator.

Yes - Sorbothane with carbon fibre shell - main thing for me is it adds more weight at the headshell so helps me get the best from the cartridge. As for the decoupling, noticed a marginal improvement in the sound being reproduced but thing it is more to do with the mass than the decoupling but I have the Mk1 version, I think the Mk11 version works better! I believe he has called it Maestro and has passed on the manufacturing to an engineering company (can't remember the name...)

The room looks nice Thanks. So in the last 3 weeks we have decorated (stripped wall paper as well) the middle and back room plus repainted the kitchen. That should be it for the next few months as we will tackle the bedrooms next!!
