Received an armboard and sprayed it gloss black to match the rest of the turntable. Looks good but not used yet.

OK - the armboard was for the Orbe, hence why there is a picture of it. The 'not used but' was I had not connected the arm cables to the phono stage and not tested it yet

Now I have moved all the kit around and spaced everything out more I thought I would try the 12 inch unipivot arm again on the Technics. Sounds really good but I still have the hum....... Looks like it will be for sale soon as for some reason it doesn't like my system!!

Got the tweaked DL103M back last week from North West Analogue and Dom has done a cracking job. As the armboard is out for the SME-V on the SP-10 I just played one side of a record and the amount of detail coming from the speakers is brilliant - cant wait to get the armboard sorted.... Pics aren't the best but will do.

Today I swapped the A&R P77 cartridge on the RB300 and replaced it with the Goldring Elite cartridge Very impressed with how they both work together on the Orbe, very musical and enjoyable

Very please your 103M has been sorted, and of course you're enjoying it. If you do have to sell your uni-pivot, do you think you may go for another 12" arm?

Maybe in the future but short term nope. Not sure why this arm is troublesome in my system. I know Chris who makes them has never had any issues as have many other people who have used Unipivots?

YES Worked on the armboard to get the right pivot to spindle distance and dialed in the overhang - sweet, sweet music So we have the re-done DL103M with DHC cantilever and FGS profiled tip on the SME V atop the SP-10, through the BB3 hence on to the Myryad Z40 pre-amp on to the Pure Sound A30 (acting as a power amp) leaving the mighty fine Reiver Jenna speakers......... heaven (can you tell that I am excited )

Cann you see what I have done ?? Lenco? Yep - decided to pull it out of the garage and check it over (been in the garage for a good few years). Needs a bit of a clean and spruce up - powered it up and very silent but a few things to address.

Lenco's, even in the standard plinths and the original arm, so long as properly sorted can and do still hold their own against more modern stuff (this Lenco was bought new by my uncle in '73). Most of the things I will be doing to this one will be cosmetic (I already sorted out the bearing and motor and tidied up the wiring, plus sorted out the rear droop the arms suffer from). Once I have a play with it, it will go back into storage (hoping one of my kids will have it )

My 'kids' are 24 and 25 and not shown that much interest to be honest but if its a gift and I set everything up then I expect them to take to it

Today I decided to spray the armboard on the SP-10 gloss black - should do until next year when the weather warms so I can sand it down and coat it properly.

how come you don't have a flash platter on it?
I didn't think much of the Technics mat on my SL1200. Pretty much every other mat I tried was better, except that one with the little nodules that stick up.

With the current mat I have had no issues with the SQ but until I try another mat then I won't no Recommendations??
