Looks great Gninnam, and no one wanted to buy the best looking turntable! Aye - had a few interested parties but didn't happen - my wife prefers the JVC over the other 2 for looks and sound.....

Blimey your nearly as bad as me. I've hot 4 setup at the moment. I have 3 more in the garage and God knows how many amps and speakers Plan to have a clear out soon as want to raise funds for a power amp plus I need to order some parts to build a passive pre and still need to re-wire the 12 inch wooden arm which I will do once the weather closes in properly. Yep my loft is in a similar position, altough I don't have to rewire any tonearms!

I want to rewire the arm, even though I have moved it furthest away from the all the electronics I can still hear some hum hence the passive pre also.

You might have said, but what's happened to the 12" titanium tonearm? One more suggestion, time to give the JVC a top shelf position, maybe swop it over with that Orbe thing

Need to sort an earth cable for the titanium arm but with it being unipivot I need something that is extremely flexible - once I get that done then it will go back on the SP-10.

Does the unipivot isolate the arm electrically from the base? Not seen one, hence the question.

Does the unipivot isolate the arm electrically from the base? Not seen one, hence the question. It does - I earthed the base and no difference. When I touch the arm, the earth hum goes so it has to go from the arm. The other issue is the hole for the wires near the pivot point is carbon fibre so the earth wire needs to go up inside the arm - nothing I can't work out!

She will only sit down and listen with me. Just how I like it

She is sat here tonight (she works in a school and they have broken for half term and been out with the girls since 4PM today - came in at 10PM not too worse for wear so I have been putting on LP's that she likes - see What you listening too...)

I did wonder why you would be voluntarily listening to the Eurythmics.

Needed more room so I could have all 3 turntables on top. Think I will get some glass doors for the left and right sides - works very well so far

Might change my name to Lasky's Room to drag out my Digital Tape and CD player and see what else I have in my stash

Very impressed with that, 3 tt's on the top shelfshelf Glass doors if you want to cheapen the look. Suggestions, a thin cotton material/net or leave open.

so which is your favoured turntable? All three Each one has a unique SQ so depending on what mood I am in depends on what TT gets used.

Using a spare PI4 I had knocking around I decided to try out my USB DAC that I use for my phone (was bought from a Kickstarter project some years back) A few quick pics: Installed Volumio (very familiar with it so why not) and it picked up the USB DAC straight away. Using the Media server section it connected to my NAS drive and I started playing some FLAC files. The sound was very good. When I get a chance I will compare to my R-2R PI and determine if there is any difference.

Is the dac built in the perspex case along with the pi?

Nope - its a daughter board that moves all connections to the back and gives you full sized HDMI ports (the PI4 uses mini HDMI connectors) - the DAC is the USB dongle at the back

Moved the SME-V arm back on the SP-10 - sounding nice. May make a new arm board and make it gloss black
