My Cabin Fever Lenco project is still my main preoccupation at the moment but I am waiting for a number of parts to continue the project which have now all been ordered form all parts of the world so who knows when they will arrive! I have the following on their way... RCA phono cable New rubber feet M8 thread and inserts. New Acrylic lid - bespoke made to measure. Rubber boot for end of bearing shaft. AT95ex cartridge and Jico M55e stylus. Hopefully there will be some progress on the cable this week. Not in any rush mate as this project may have to last a few more months in Lockdown. My Cabin fever is under control!

Couple years ago I went into the motorists shop to ask for some Holts Autosol. Blank looks all round. I had no idea that Holts was a thing of my youth.

My SP10 is in need of a clean, badly. If you need it cleaning badly, just ask one of your kids to do it for you.

Are you making your own Frankencart? Hi Kevin, I have nearly got my Lenco in action so will hopefully be able to try the Frankencartridge soon!
Yes I have plans to do something with the AT95ex a bit down the road and it will become a Frankencart but this may be just the beginning as I have some diabolical plans for another cartridge aswell....

Is this going through your croft? Is the croft low or high gain? Due you know how many dB gain it kicks out?

It will do eventually when I get the Croft up and running but until then it will be going through a Vintage receiver...The retro system will be fired up soon. 1963 cartridge, turntable 1967, Receiver 1978.

Retro system up and running at last. More photos to come but here is a snapshot of the Lenco with a Frankencartridge..had to cobble together the M55e with M44-7 stylus. Nice combination and certainly very listenable. Got the cables on then?

Went on like a dream Oli, thanks very much. Popped on with existing solder. Sounding very good as are the speakers. And this little beauty is a gem! Ha! how nice to see them getting some use. Proper good speakers, no nasties and work well in smaller spaces. Live how all the wood is nearly the same colour lol. Era defining walnut lol

Yes that colour was 70s -early 80s Hifi. The Celestion DL6s are definitely proper good speakers, getting some very good sound out of them.
They have surprised me to be honest. Now the system has warmed up they sound a treat. My choice with the Pioneer receiver (thanks Alan)to sort all the amplification out in one box solution has proven superb. Very acceptable sound and it has some serious heft and power for a 20 watt receiver. I haven't finished with the system yet as there is still some important work to be done with the Lenco.
Folk would be very surprised at just how good this set up sounds.

it looks like a cool set up jimbo,i do love the look of those pioneer sx's. Yes the Pioneer SX range were very well built and sound very good indeed. This SX 590 was towards the bottom of the range with higher power models up the range. It is so nicely built and every switch feels quality.

Brilliant - love the look of the kit - I'm not surprised how well all of that will sound. Great result

I've got an HK930 already. But it has the black vinyl sleeve not the wooden one so not as pretty. A mate used to have one of the Pioneer monsters, weighed 20 kilos. Can't recall the model now. Sound quality was okay, not world-beating. It was a talking point though.
