Well, I have tried a few different resistors and didn't really think there was any reason to invest further in experiment. What did make a huge difference was getting the values matched to each channel, and also getting the values for the positions as accurate as possible and making sure the valves are well balanced. Also, the signal does travel across a fair few components so it makes it a bit pointless tbh. Just pick good quality and match them up

What are the tried/tested valves used in this? I am going to keep my eyes open for something sensibly priced, but still of good quality.
