A little while back now, I was commissioned to makie a set of very interesting cables. The interested party wanted something that incorporated Graphene.
Here are the end result:
I have to say, they sound great. I have been listening to them for a good chunk of hours and whilst I rarely commit to a conclusion before 100hrs has passed, I am not going to get that opportunity with these as they need to be sent out.
Needless to say, I am absolutely impressed by these cables. They are accurate, precise and incisive. No flab. They deliver the whole frequency range and the bass has great levels of impact, really punchy!. One thing my own cables do for me, is delve deep into the depths and these leave nothing behind either.
I am sincerely going to miss these cables. For the first time, in a long time, I have swapped a set of my cables out (Spotfire Speaker Cables) and didn't feel like I'd lost something. I would love to spend 100hrs on them, giving them adequate burn in time, to see how they develop. (nay sayers needn't bother commenting, you won't change my mind about the merits of burn in)
I am going to have to make a pair for myself..........Anyone recommend a good Credit Card lol

Graphene is used as the insulator? I assume as with your other cables, this is OCC based as well?

I have had the opportunity of giving these cables a bit more burn in period.
Oh my giddy aunt! Or Oh my God! As you prefer....
Now the speaker cables I was using weren't shabby, being OCC based. These cables give a total coherence to the sound. What I mean by this is that the precision of image placement, the depth and focus of the performance is exquisite, the balance to the soundstage across the complete frequency range is so well defined that it makes you wonder how this can be. The bass has more 'flesh' to it, the vocals are real people. They make you realise that well produced vinyl used outstanding gear to produce the sound.
I shall be very sorry to hand these back.

Unfortunately, they do have to come back lol

Graphene as insulator, it couldn't be any less insulating if you tried. It's the best electrical and thermal conductor there is.
Powered graphene mixed with plastic is a different thing entirely.

Graphene insulation
For conductor insulation, we chose Graphene, an allotrope with excellent electrical, mechanical and chemical properties. To develop this process, the brand worked for two years with an American Graphene polymer research company. This treatment provides much better protection against electromagnetic interference. In addition, the Graphene's high thermal deformation capacity strengthens the dielectric by 30% to ensure identical performance for decades to come. Finally, Graphene creates a 100% anti-corrosive barrier, preventing oxygen from penetrating into the shielding and conductors. This isolation ensures both a perfectly closed electromagnetic field blocking all interference, as well as greater durability.
Feel free to debate this, it's from the manufacturer

Pleased the cable has worked out, like to hear it myself. Yes, I am too but my opinion on it doesn't really matter. It works well in my system, has blown a hole in Alan's mind and yet the final say will be on the new owner. I may make a set for myself. Just need a bit of funding lol. If I do, I may lend them to a couple of members, just for interest and opinion.

I have priced it up and will see what I can put together. They are not cheap to make, especially not to the standard I demand, so it could be a little while. Just had to repair the garage roof too, which ate all of my saved funds. Not the news you want this side of Christmas.

Powdered graphene in polypropylene then based on those numbers.

It would be a refreshing change if you built something, reviewed it, and proclaimed.....Well wot a heap o Sh#t that was.
That's all !!!

I suppose I could do that, if I built things that were a piece of Sh#t. I'm not in The habit of wasting my time, or money on building stuff that I haven't done some due diligence about and I'm fairly confident of the result prior to completion. Personally, I'd call it a pretty good success rate. 😉

To be fair, you have built cables that you said were crap. I know you built many before Spotfire using other cables inc the usual suspects. As I recall, you already panned Van Damme and Klotz. I'm guessing a few speaker cables went the same way only you simply put them down to experience,
Some folk enjoy writing more about the things they like. Others are just as happy condemning the stuff they hate. I enjoy both, but it's a world of variety.

Sent them out on loan and the feedback from the loanees was horrible. That was well documented. My first tonearm cable, made with Klotz was another big failure, being comfortably beaten by some some starquad Mogami. I made a preamp with an Alps Blue that wasn't stellar sou ding and was the first time I realised how much of a bottleneck they were. I build a phonostage called the wizard that wasnt brilliant either and didn't work lol. I've failed many times and happily spoken about my experiences. Truth is, this was something levelled at me by the HFS mob of old. Fact is I now know what makes a good cable (to my ears) and I stick to the things principles. Apologies if that gets on anyone's nerves but when you have a formula that works, why deviate?

Thankfully, the Dream speaker cables have landed and the new owner has sent me a pic of their partnering equipment. Very grateful for the pic and the initiatial feedback which is as I hoped it would be. Excellent [emoji6]

That left speaker is close to the rack. I'm sure it doesn't affect the sound. But seeing that for long will drive me crazy!
