For me.it was the cable management.

It blows my mind, how much hes spent on hifi yet settles for that speaker placement. Surely he moves it in a foot when listening.

And if there are any doubts, I am not jealous of the speakers. I feel they will be too big for my listening space.
When I retire, it will be a different story as I will have a bigger room. In fact I am planning on building a log cabin in the garden so I can make as much noise as I want.
As long as the owner is happy, that is all that matters in my opinion.
I think those speakers are currently worth more than my car!

Surely he moves it in a foot when listening.
85Kg each so I hope they're on wheels... Also having to move them every time would probably negate the positives of the decent speaker cable surely?
If I was a betting man I'd say they don't get moved.

A message from the owner of the system
"The drivers arenât obscured by the rack when seated, if thatâs what you mean.
The placement was done by ear but I will have another go now the amps are in the rack and the cables are in.
I have just bought a microphone to use with REW to measure the room. So may move things around based on this. For now the odd tow in is the best sounding.
The speakers arenât spiked yet either so will do this when I have placement done"

I have half a kitchen in front of my speakers currently, so I'm no one to lecture.

SITREP
Having experienced what 'The Dream' speaker leads are capable of I had to follow through. Now installed and the system has taken a mega uplift in sound. More clarity, more presence, more detail (hearing new things in recordings).
These really are a window into the recordings and show the full performance electrostatics are capable of.

Thankfully, the Dream speaker cables have landed and the new owner has sent me a pic of their partnering equipment. Very grateful for the pic and the initiatial feedback which is as I hoped it would be. Excellent [emoji6] All well and good in this budget setup but how about a high end one?

Strangely my speaker wires make no difference to how my 64s sound, or Paul's 989s. Give em 4mm of copper and they're perfectly happy.

Alan used some 2.5mm Neotech OCC stuff, which he bought after he heard my Spotfire speaker cable. He was certainly very happy with it untill we stuck the Graphene stuff from Zavfino in. I know it's not cheap, but seeing as Alan is using a Neurochrome 286 and a set of 57s, it may be worth you guys trying a bit. I'd be quite puzzled if you didn't hear a difference.

I don't think Vlad means to "Stir" Bigman, maybe he's in the percentage of us who are fed up with what comes across as yet another tedious shill, of yet another so claimed must have giant killing cable.

No one has said you must have it. I shared details of a cable I've made for a customer of mine, and Alan has shared his thoughts after hearing them and made some for himself. It's a thread about a Cable FFS. If you don't like it, don't read it. You don't have to, no one is forcing you too. EDIT I have just had a look back over the thread Harrison, and apart from two views expressed on the sound of the cable, there has been nothing other than discussion about graphene use or the placement of the left speaker in this thread. I have even named the cable I used and previously quoted the manufacturer blurb so anyone with a brain could easily have found out what it is and make their own. Which I have already been contacted about and confirmed its identity. Great shill isn't it. đ For anyone who IS interested in this type of cable, here's a link to it. www.audiophonics.fr/en/hook-up-wires/1877phono-graphene-wiring-cable-occ-copper-silver-262mm-graphene-insulation-o53mm-black-p-14003.htmlAs I said, I have already confirmed and advised on how i terminate this cable to a couple of guys here, and a couple elsewhere.

Tedious shill, tedious shill, all I want for Christmas is a tedious shill ...
Now where can I find one?

What I made is out of the linked cable. Its the same conductor.

Iâd already worked out what cable it was by googling the quote. I havenât read all the thread and Iâm so forgetful I may have missed it being identified anyway. I did see it for 26 dollars 50 elsewhere but import duty probably makes it less of a bargain.
I didnât order any (or even think for a second about it) because the cable I use has wiped the floor with everything else and I donât want to alter anything about my sound. If that makes me a good or bad tester, I dunno. Iâd do it to give another voice to the debate but I have no personal curiosity.
Despite some good qualities (bass and definition) Spotfire didnât quite hit the spot for me, but it did highlight weaknesses in my SSC which made me try 2 pairs of Black Rhodium Polar Illuison. I found that better than Spotfire and SSC in every way, but if I hadnât tried Oliverâs cable, I wouldnât have moved forward.
If anyone doubtful of other peopleâs findings is sufficiently interested, why not ask to borrow? Surely youâd win either way.

Have you read the bumff Macca? It's gotta be worth the price, right......đđđ
All of the conductors used in our cables undergo Deep Cryo⢠treatment before the insulation is extruded over the metals. Our research has proven that the conductorâand only the conductorâ benefits from cryo-treatment. Materials such as polyvinyl chloride (PVCâ˘), Teflonâ˘, PE, and Silicon⢠can all be adversely affected by cold-temperature annealing. Cryo-treating non-conductors and insulating materials can cause them to break down and become brittle. The purity, size, and molecular structure of each conductor determine the specific temperature within the -186ÂşC to - a 196ÂşC range that we cryo-treat it at. Zavfinoâs research into cold temperature physics has proven that the absolute lowest temperature is not necessarily the best for cryo-treatment. This is a two-stage process. In the first stage we draw the bare conductor through a ceramic die into an ultrasonic cleaning chamber that bombards the conductor with multiple ultrasonic frequencies. This emulsification process removes all debris from the surface of the wire down to the molecular level and leaves absolutely zero residues.
UltraSonic 7 High Voltage / Thermal Break-in This is a two-stage process. In the first stage we draw the bare conductor through a ceramic die into an ultrasonic cleaning chamber that bombards the conductor with multiple ultrasonic frequencies. This emulsification process removes all debris from the surface of the wire down to the molecular level and leaves absolutely zero residues. After each individual wire is processed, we strand it into bundles and then subject the bundles to further treatment. During the second stage of the ultrasonic burn-in, we increase the voltage to a higher level thatâs just below the threshold of the conductor. This adjustment in temperature allows us to get a unique âbreak-in effectâ normally associated with cables that have had 30 to 40 hours of signal and/or current run through them.
Zavfinoâs H-Wound⢠+ Zero Strand Loss: Drawing on more than 18 years of manufacturing experience, Zavfino has developed a remarkable new technique for twisting stranded wire tightly around a central solid-core conductor. An electrical phenomenon commonly known as the âskin effectâ occurs when electrons move through any solid core conductor. Higher frequencies travel along the outside (the skin) of the conductor faster than midrange and lower echelon frequencies. This results in smeared PRaT, muddled instrumental timbres, and an unnatural sound. Zavfinoâs new H-Wound⢠manufacturing technique negates the skin effect. Originally developed by OEMs Siemens and Klangfilm, Zavfino uses a customized transformer wire-stranding machine. We further modified the gears in this machinery to create windings at a slower RPM ratio with a much tighter pitch. This patented manufacturing process enables us to twist the wiring at the tightest pitch possible without overlapping the wire strands. Most wire-stranding machines can only fabricate windings up to a maximum of 300 twists per meter. Setting the bar far higher, Zavfinoâs patented H-Wound⢠cable winding machine creates a pitch rate of 14,000 to 16,000 twists per meter; which is unmatched by any other audiophile cable maker. Zavfinoâs new Zero Strand Loss⢠manufacturing technique protects the bundled conductors from being damaged during stripping and termination. By ensuring that each core has zero chipped, cut, or mangled strands, we can guarantee that each insulated core is 100% identical. For audiophiles, the sonic results of tighter windings and Zero Strand Loss⢠conductors are cables with quieter backgrounds, remarkable timbral accuracy, lifelike PRaT, jaw dropping mid-range resolution, and superior low frequency extension. Our new H-Wound⢠stranding technology allows us to protect the delicate electrical signal being transferred through our cables. Combined with Zavfinoâs state of the art manufacturing techniques, our precision matched OCC Copper (Cu) and Silver (Ag) conductors used in the Silver Dart⢠A/C power cord bring an unequalled purity and honesty to all forms of music. The results are previously unheard details, finesse, and accuracy across the frequency spectrum.

Yes I read the bumph. The higher the price the more bumph they need to write.
I can't find the same cable for sale for 26 dollars a metre though. Anyone got a link? 26 dollars seems pretty reasonable. 1000 dollars is just crazy.

Just to be clear here,
The cable I linked to is not the same cable as the silver dart cable.
It's the same inner conductors only. Released as hookup wire, which I made into a speaker cable.
