Nasty power hungry Sh#t Caesar was, he destroyed the Republic. Plus he took up with a Gypo, just like princess Di did, and look how they both ended up. Bowie? Giant Yawn...................................zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. For the third time, as I have read David Copperfield 3 times thought I would go back to his second best.

1st point ....completely valid. 2nd point .... go F#ck yersell the man was a god. Re , Dickens . A more greedy repetitive fame seeking big mouth than Caeser probably was. Re Dickens. He was a more populist big mouthed fame seeker than Caeser was. And Martin Chuzzlewit is his best. Ask any American. ðŸ¤

Glad to see you are sticking to your guns, I admire a man who does not compromise his values or taste, however deluded and common they may be.

There was a fantastic multi part documentary on BBC iPlaYer on the Vietnam war, 10 years in the making, included several taped conversations between Tricxy Dicky Nixon and Kissinger, mind blowing.

Must check it out, that war was a cluster f of note, Commies under the bed again, typical American Sh#t shower, make trouble, kill innocents, then when the going gets tough run home crying, cause some peasants, and or tribesmen gave them another good spanking. Not the country you want or need on your side, they will just get you involved on their crap every time, then leave you to pick up the pieces.

Not all are bad, just that the majority are inbred moronic sister & daughter shagging mof'n white trash.

The 'Sourcebook on Atomic Energy' by Samuel Glasstone 1950. Old, but still surprisingly relevant.

I'm watching the Chinese made series on Bruce on netflix at the moment. It's good and the guy playing him is uncannily like Bruce Lee. But it's just a glorification and all the stuff like his father liking a bit of opium is of coursr completely ignored. So I'm reading this one which is s.d supposedly a more accurate telling. Old Brucey was an important figure to us 70's teens. From creeping into the X cert Enter The Dragon , to screaming like cats and kicking each other in the knackers . 🤪 .

I've decided to put Proust on the backburner and read 'The Looking-Glass War' by John le Carre instead.

I just finished reading 'Pygmy', by Chuck Palahnuik. If ever a book was to divide opinion it's this story. It took me a couple of chapters to 'get it', then I realised what fun it was in a slightly wicked sort of way. Certainly very different and imaginative. Review: www.theguardian.com/books/2009/jun/13/pygmy-chuck-palahniuk-review Palahnuik by the way, wrote 'Fight Club'.

Good book .... great film. Imperialist, racist, the sum of your good qualities is quite evident in posts of this nature.
