I'm on a Barbara Pym binge. Just finished 'Less Than Angels'; just started 'Some Tame Gazelle'. Have 'Jane and Prudence' on order from Amazon.

Any shagging in it ? 🤪 No. These books were written before shagging had been invented.

Yeh by all accounts he was pissed when they told him they wanted someone else for the role. I reckon Gerhard Butler would be good for it.

Just finished reading 'the VIENNA ASSIGNMENT' by Olen Steinhauer, about a cold war communist spy with rather self destructive patriotic ideals. Good story!

Mein Kampf.
It started out okay, but got a bit bogged down in the middle.
A classic.

Currently on Catch 22 (just started)
And I've already come to the conclusion that Yosarian has a point but should be put against a wall and shot.
Any pilot requesting mental evaluation for insanity—hoping to be found not sane enough to fly and thereby escape dangerous missions—demonstrates his own sanity in creating the request and thus cannot be declared insane ?
It's like a R2R user who thinks it's the Bees Knees, but realized there's been more titles released on 8 track, so begins to wander if his venture is viable.....(he reaches his desision)......Then along comes the compact cadette.
CATCH 22

'Virtual History' by Niall Ferguson and others. A series of essays about what would have happened if ... The English Civil War hadn't happened, HItler had won WW2; JFK hadn't been assassinated, etc etc. Enjoyable enough but fairly pointless.

Currently reading 'Tourist Season' by Carl Hiaasen. This is good fun, the plot and characters are a bit like the old Rockford Files TV series from years ago.

Started reading Bronson, really quite interesting. I saw the movie that was made about him a few years ago and decided I'd try the book.
