Today, still feeling lke a dog's disc in a whisk part IV, missed out of some stonking lectures this week on EMC & board stack up @ Redbull racing and Siemans. Have been insanely busy in the last couple of months and really in need of a serious break. In the mean time hope everyone is safe and well How comes you're feeling so rotten Tony ?

Really not so sure Robbie? Both of us had flu jabs nearly two weeks ago, and last friday it was like being hit by a wall of steel, spend 3 days in bed, felt a little better on Wednesday but today I'm struggling again, maybe its that point in life where things just take longer to internally repair/fix or I have a very virilent strain. So today its technical emails and basic clock design work nothing phyical. One small bonus I can listne to music unhindered some currently spinning (via files lol) Misplaced Childhood, just such a decent album prog or not. Thanks for asking

Sorry to hear your feeling rough Tony. Sometimes you get the symptoms after the flu jab and feel off for a bit.
Hope you feel right again, soon.

Yes i guess with 4 strains of flu in every jab which is an attenuated vaccine at least one of them might upset the system !!

I have got the photos out of my phone and on to IMGBB but cannot post them on here no matter what method I try This photo I did (in quickIB) by holding my finger on it until the pale blue top bar appeared. I then selected the copy icon on the blue bar (2 overlaping pages symbol). This copies the relevant link. When in your thread text box simply hold your finger on the screen until paste appears/right click mouse and select paste and that's it.

Here are a few of the photos I took in France, will post some more later. Note the sun is out, which it was the entire time.
The photos above were taken in the village of Vertuil, all at the same place on the bridge crossing the river.
The gite which was cheap and well appointed. Huge garden with a tennis court and swimming pool that unfortunately empty for repairs.
The pixrures above are from Rochforcaud Castle, which was amazing, with all of it recently restored.
More to follow

Looks terrific Happy memories for me of when our kids were 9 and 6 (now in their 30’s) and we had a wonderful holiday in Marillac la France Time of life when we were totally skint and the parents of good friends offered us their cottage. Remember Angouleme and the area really well.. as your pics show it remains beautiful

That cover (or similar) is cheaper here: snvinyl.co.uk/epages/eshop943300.mobile/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/eshop943300/Products/COVERU1&Locale=en_GBI nearly bought one of these, but was concerned that it could pivot around the spindle, hit the arm and cause damage. I can't see anything in that design to prevent rotation. What happens if someone inadvertently starts the platter spinning...? It's not obvious in the pics, but I put a 30mm lip down the back edge of the technics motor housing. The cover cannot rotate on the spindle and the start/stop button is covered so can't be pressed.

They did not tempt me enough to even consider the starting issue, I was just concerned about it being knocked and it hitting the arm. I guess the Rega one solves this by having a pin that locks into the chassis. Why am I not surprised that you have engineered a solution for all issues this type of cover creates!!!

Good start to my day - came down this morning to discover we had been burgled last night. Took both car keys and my wallet - nothing else appears to have been touched. So, wife's car was taken - Ford Focus ST. My son's car was in the garage and they didn't have the keys for that so still in there but we only had one set so need to get another set.
Cancelled all the cards and police came round this morning - looks like a few more houses were also targeted.
Just waiting on the car insurance company as all dialled the claims number and its all automated, they send you an email with a link to prove who you are but the link in the email doesn't show!! Now using the chat facility but that too is taking forever.
Good start to the week!

What a &%$ pain, the thought of someone invading someone else's home makes me sick, not to mention the theft aspect and all that goes with it. Was burgled too back in 1990 when I lived in a flat on my own, it is a pain to say the least. Glad no one harmed, hope it all gets sorted and you get to beefing up security further. All the best

This was supposed to be a temporary fix until I think of something else (although it may stay for a while!). We have a 4 year old daughter, so this is a little added protection. It may not be that cost effective to make something like this by hand... Doing the folds by hand with a heat gun is laborious and difficult to do accurately. There are companies online that fold and drill polycarbonate to spec. so that may actually be more cost effective. Happy to share my cover dimensions for people too.

I also overheated a few areas so it has bubbled a tiny bit. I'm deffo not a polycarbonate folding pro yet. It didn't take that long, but there was a little luck in getting the bends right.

Very good quality and superbly packed. Had put notches in it for hinges, and actually fitted them. I based my measurements on this linn one, but cocked up a bit. I hadnt allowed for the rear of the arm swinging out as it reached the end of travel. So can’t use the lid in action and now just remove it entirely when using. Turned out like this. Really nice quality. Looks great quality. As hinges are not fitted does this mean a small knock might knock it out of position on the plinth?
