Fitted my new tonearm 😁 Many thanks to Angus (Phonomac) for his excellent work on my donor arm. Currently fitted with an NOS SAE 1000e cartridge I picked up off ebay for a bargain price, makes you wonder why we spend £1000s on cartridges Oyaide weight was something I bought a few weeks ago, makes a difference too. Now I just need to move it all to make way for a bloody tree 😂

found ice on the inside of my bathroom window. Don't think I will be taking a shower today. Supposed to warm up a bit later on today. Really has been a bad couple of weeks here. If we get any more of it I am going to pitch a tent in the living room and move in there. Sick of spending money on heating that barely scratches the surface. yes looked at our smart meter yesterday and thought ooh we havnt spent much . but it was only on leccie so when gas and leccie together it was nearly 15 quid ... oh my !! weekdays I am only in 4 hours then go to bed but that four hours is costing me almost a fiver of leccy, and that's not to be comfortably warm, that's just to stave off death

we had a big funeral today for a German chap who trained as a male nurse and then married a wonderful english lady . He was a bit like a cross between harrison ford and mother theresa . Extremely brave working all over Yemen and spoke fluent arabic . He used to have a boat which he sailed there as part of his work. He was one of those larger than life characters you never forget !!
Had a bit of a shock when i arrived as the stage was full of musicians and they had already set up the mixing desk . of course i normally set up the levels myself so we had 2 sets of drums , keyboard, various vocalists , youtube music to enter by . fortunately it went well but folks came from Grmany and France and various parts of UK to give this guy a great send off . it was over 80 mins long because of all the tributes
Wonderful to have known this guy who the family expressed their great thanks to the Local hospital for care at the end

Today I am enduring day 3 of the Lurgy. Have had 2 days of aching joints and eyes, extreme lethargy and body temperature going all over the place. Still having temperature swings but not so often, worse thing is my nose leaking like a shagged tap + continual sneezing and coughing. God these dockyard oysters are bloody hard to evict.

we all got thrown out of work at 1400 today. Literally they turfed everyone out and closed the shutters. Even the FD had to go. I barely had time to finish drinking my tea.
Never seen that at a place before, usually they say you can go if you want (and then there's a rush for the door).
Then went up town for Xmas shopping. Horrendous but was in and out in 20 mins. Saw that watch I fancy, it's still in the window but £8.5K not going to happen. Maybe they will knock £8K off in the Jan sales?

For a tenth of that you could have a fortnight's holiday in Turkey, with a 'genuine fake' of your desired watch thrown in.

Today I got back from a really enjoyable few days away with the family. Lovely views of the River Wye. The hot tub and the underfloor heating was particularly enjoyable.

@bigman80 Looks very nice, them wood huts would make a nice hifi room in your back garden. These few days, were they holiday days or strikers days?

I did think about popping in, but as we had all the family there, i didn;t think me bailing out for a hifi session would be a good idea lol

Just finished our Xmas dinner, we're early risers the same as Jerry, and now that the food, sherry and wine have ended up on our eyelids it is now time for a snooze. See you tomorrow.

mixed the sound today , pretty well packed for christmas day . had MIL round for first time in many years . taken many months and hours to achieve this so feels good possibly spurred on by last years APPALLING train journey to see her . We had to stand for about 2 hours in the rubber junction between train carriages crammed into a tiny space as so many trains cancelled at christmas . like being on a drayton manner ride ... never again !!

Must admit these days if I can't get somewhere under my own steam, then I don't bother. Won't use buses or trains as can't deal with the ignorance of others. Bellowing into phones, yobbish behaviour, allowing their brats to scream, etc.
