Can't they just send it to the pharmacy? I haven't collected a script in years and we don't even go into the chemist to collect, we get sent a text with code on it and collect it from the robot dispenser outside on the wall, saves a lot of queuing 😉 We can also message the pharmacy via their own app. Very handy 😊

I drop my repeat script in surgery post box (usually out of hours) they sort and send order to Chemist who turn up with it a few days later. Not seen Doc in 3 years as can't be bothered dealing with the 200 personal questions from the Gestapo on reception.

Today I am looking forward to tomorrow, as I am giving myself the day off. First I need to do carpet shopping with Mrs. P to build up some brownie points, then I'll spend them playing some favourite tunes.
My speakers (Zu Omen Def) have some weird slots on the underside, which augments the bass output. Recommended gap between speakers and floor is thickness of a CD case or thereabouts. I'm going to experiment with this gap and see how I can get it sounding in conjunction with a REL T9i I bought recently.
I may have to visit a couple of carpet shops to build up enough points for this.

yes this is what the website says most days . Unfortunately, due to high demand, there are no more appointments available for today, unless the GP feels it is clinically urgent. If you feel your issue is urgent for today and cannot safely wait, continue with the form, contact 111
bear in mind this GP surgery is on channel 5 for many months for GP behind closed doors !! sometimes even seen friends on there with GP . not something i relish . thank goodness for services like 111 which i rang at 2 am last week when i felt pretty bad !!!

Does Sciatica bring her own steel erections? They're a tough bunch, these Portuguese ladies of the night, I'm not surprised your back's goosed.

Moved the HiFi up to my home office for the next month. No room for it in the main lounge and the coming xmas tree... and the 55" telly we set up today. Now I can read those text messages when we are meant to see over a character's shoulder.

Today I agreed on the latest upgrades to my Black Ice DAC, to include changing output caps from Mundorf Supreme to Vcap ODAM, cast silver output wires, DH Lab gold on copper RCA sockets, 12v regulator upgrade and various other caps to Audio Note Kansei. There will also be some resistor changes on the digital board and within the output stage + a few other things I've forgotten, the work will be done by Robert Ayre (Open door on the Wam) of Ayre Audio who was the former UK Jolida importer and knows these DACs inside out. Sending it off next Monday, can't wait for it to be sorted and start playing with it, it will be the most maxed out BI in the UK.

Busy day yet again, watched the recorded session of the Scottish Snooker Open (had to watch the football last night) Great to see two relatively unknown players get to the final with Gary Wilson winning his first major tournament. Then it was on to the cricket to watch England beat Pakistan in the first test, an exciting finish with England going one up. Back on to football again, watching Japan vs Croatia with the volume down while listening to Sting - 10 Summoner's Tales. It's all bloody go!

I have a soft spot for both Glass FX III DAC's (modded) and indeed ODAM caps . . . . so I imagine it would make my spot well and truly squidgy . . . possibly even a bit moist. What valves are you running? My favorite were some Raytheon yellow label CK5755's with adapters. I'd buy it back now if I could to be fair.

These new mods should take it to a whole new level. optical If you ever want another contact Robert, he still imports a few. As to which valves, it came from Robert with Sylvania 5751 which he recommended, however I've changed to early 1960s TFK 83s which are stunning in the BI. I will try and get across to yours next year and bring the BI. antonio Not a chance Dave, atleast not for the foreseeable future, admittedly it only attracts around 5% of my current listening, the same with my Lector CDP, but that's only coz I'm an idle fecker.

Yeah don't I know it, tt combo owes me £7.5k (rrp £18.8k) then there's the 956 records (discogs median is £11.8k). I think in the current climate I'd be lucky to see 4k for the tt and 3k for the records. Have considered moving out of vinyl in the past but will stick with it for a few years more, same with CD. I'm sure once I retire and mum passes so I can sell up (she own half of house) and move, I will use the tt & cdp more. Plan is to find a detached bungalow to convert into a decent sized music room with some basic accommodation.

Had my new Fibre Optic broadband installed Over 10x faster than before and £4 a month cheaper Could have gone for the 900Mbps but looking at the cost over the 500Mbps I couldn't justify it

If it isn't bad enough coping with all the ailments I've had to deal with, the consequences are also starting to bite. Had some friends move to Florida recently and they have invited us over for a holiday. Great idea, that is until I look at the price of holiday insurance. Holy crap, the tickets are just over £400 each, but the insurance for me alone is now £5,000 and the missus is just under £1,000.
Bollox to that notion, so I looked at a week in the med which stil tops out at £500, so brexit has had a major effect on that front as well.

Good grief Maybe it’s because it’s USA I was very worried about our insurance this summer, what with Fiona being just over 2 years out of cancer treatment and I’ve got a few minor ailments. Anyway.. got cover for travel insurance for 2 weeks hols with Makesure Travel Insurance. Had been recommended by Oncology/Macmillan £48 with all treatments/ records disclosed. But that was for Greece. Dunno if it makes a difference. We were very relieved.

Haven't noted a significant change in our travel insurance due to Brexit, so it suggests it's the fact the US has an abysmal health care system and you'd likely need a mass of money if something goes wrong out there. I'd have a look around because that's quite simply ridiculous
