oh my gosh... what a view !! Yeah.. it really is. Bit of a pilgrimage Because Fiona was ill and having treatment when her dad died she missed out on that cathartic process of saying goodbye/funerals etc. So we have come back to the place where her branch of the MacDonald clan came from.. a cluster of abandoned longhouses on a beach. We found it on Sunday and had the most glorious weather. Built a cairn, built a small fire, placed a painted stone on the top and poured half a miniature of Laphroaig over it. Now exploring the Ardnamurchan peninsula from here. Awesome www.cottages-and-castles.co.uk/cottages/the-seashell--acharacle

Had the crappiest week imaginable and it still goes on even now.
Monday morning I get the sniffles which by the evening turns into violent coughing, shivering and a headache that would fell a horse. So the wife books me to see the quack, who informs me I have covid and sends me away. On the way home in the car I start to heave and just as I was trying to get off the main road into a side road it all erupted and I plough the car into a brick wall and ditch. Within moments I had a while bunch of willing people pull over offering help and hugs. Plus calling for the cops and an ambulance. It is now Thursday afternoon and I am still in hospital. Great.
Meanwhile, over last weekend the power kept going off in the house and that was due to my little furry friends eating the mains wiring for the cooker under the sink.
Finally and what is REALLY making me stressed is this bloody cd player issue as ebay have given me nearly 380 of unauthorised overdraft that the missus should not know about, so please someone BUY the bastid thing and make a handsome profit reselling it, or give me a short term loan and you will be well rewarded

To add to my woes the phone ran out of charge yesterday morning, the wife wants me to deal with the insurance company and organise the hire car. Today I get a parcel delivered which has payjamas, shaving gear, etc., and a phone charger and lead. Hooray. Put the phone on charge a a doctor comes into the room and knock the phone of the table. "That's lucky rhe cable caught it" says the doc but the lead is now Donald ducked. Thanks.
To close this sordid tale, I have been told I don't have covid, I have type A Influenza which I had the flu jab for a while and so did the missus

Well some really good news came my way yesterday. Within a very short space of time I had no less than two forum members offer me a short term loan after my plea.
I won't name them but their kind gesture has taken a huge amount of pressure away from me and despite laying in a hard lumpy hospital bed, shivering and a bright light on all night, plus a heart rate monitor hung around my neck, I managed to get 4 hours sleep.
I am truly humbled about the quality of the members on this forum and there are deeper empathise at play, not just twittering endless bollocks about a supposed shrinking hobby.
