I use Seismic Platforms under all my TT's, a really good piece of kit. I'm even thinking about one under the valve amp.

So at the Scottish holiday cottage we are staying at they said put out an egg and cake (we didn’t have peanut butter) and you might tempt a Pine Martin. Well… hello Percy Pine Martin So… Percy and Petunia Pine Martin have a table booked for 8:15. Peanut butter and raspberry jam (it is Scotland after all) has been purchased at great expense. No.. Acharacle village stores know how to maximise profits from customers with bugger all options. Anyway.. plus 2 raw eggs and butties made. We all dine together.

Hahaha, badgers. Badgers Nearly destroyed an entire sandy hill side development where my mom moved to.. They had to pump expanding concrete into the holes and routes they had dug underneath the bungalows to save the hill from becoming condemned.

I wish I could get the Townshend bar things. But the footers stick out too far and we'd be continually tripping over one of them.
Still, my makeshift speaker supports make the speakers go all wobbly and provide a noticeable sonic improvement, and no broken toes and swearing!

Today........ I'm on oven repairs, element needs replacing and of course it's screwed in from the back behind a cover so instead of 6 screws you need to remove 16. Fingers crossed the new element fixes it.

Still, my makeshift speaker supports make the speakers go all wobbly and provide a noticeable sonic improvement, and no broken toes and swearing! We've had the Townshend bars for approx 9yrs, never kicked our toes once. The bars are adjustable in length so they don't stick out too much, although if you are in the habit of walking over to your speakers to give them a 'hug', I could see it would only be a matter of time before stubbing your toe.

One of the footers would stick out into a high traffic area. Just trouble waiting to happen. Although I am pleased that you haven't broken any toes.

I’ve often wondered why Townshend didn’t offer a threaded version so that you could replace spikes on speakers with an isolation pod

said goodbye to my INCREDIBLE impulse taus today. took 2 very strong men to get them down from third floor attic . they deserve a medal !!! sad to see them go as they were probably as good as the martin logan for incredible imaging . hope someone else can enjoy them for a while now . had a wonderful 4 and half years with them . now got to find a smooth sounding standmount or small floorstander . smooth being the word . maybe a boenicke anyway the amphion argon one will suffice for now

Funnily enough I’d actually ordered these and then Hi-Fihouse cancelled the order when I said they were for speakers. This was the email- to be fair he did me a cracking deal for the bars. Probably go back to him if I need higher rated bars or podiums Hi Steve Thanks for the info. Pods are designed for components and not speakers (too unstable for speakers). What you need is a set of Seismic Bars (probably size 1) - please let me know the the width and depth of the base of the speaker stands and I can then confirm that size 1 bars will be suitable. Kind regards Russ

.... now got to find a smooth sounding standmount or small floorstander . smooth being the word . maybe a boenicke anyway the amphion argon one will suffice for now I've only heard Boenicke speakers twice, both at the Wigwam show and I have to confess that I found the high frequencies a little troubling and over exuberant. But then we seem to usually have diametrically opposite preferences when it comes to speakers so they will probably be ideal for you!

They were the W8 I think, I have heard them a couple of times also. They would not be my recommendation for someone looking for a smooth-sounding speaker! Not as rough as a badger's arse, but deffo not smooth. I suppose if someone likes those Impusle speakers they would like the W8 too. Both are too uncouth for my taste.

Today I was amused to see that you can’t comment on a sales thread, unless you are interested in the item, but you can wish GLWS.
Does that imply that the item is crap, and you will need luck selling it? I have never seen the need/use of such a comment myself. Good gear sells itself, apart from these strange times we are going through right now.
Personally, I think positive comments should be allowed to support an item that is for sale.

Wishing someone well in their endeavours to sell an item has never been frowned upon, on this or any forum. If there is a continuation of the public "pot shotting" at me, which seems to be your main motivation to post in recent days/weeks, I'll simply "pot shot" you out of the door....which would be a shame and totally avoidable. But, a line has to be drawn after the now deleted thread, and this is it. I imagine the interpretation of that won't be misunderstood?
