...laid around the house, took drugs and watched TV. What, drugs but no booze and sex, what is this younger generation coming to?

Seriously, the older we get the more we rattle from all the tablets we need to keep us well. A pill for this, a pill for that, a pill to stop pill A from reacting to pill B, etc, etc.
At the moment I only have a blood pressure tablet daily, but now that I'm on NHS's radar that will soon change no doubt.

You’ve got that spot on. I discovered this week that even if you have identical symptoms from say 12 months ago, then you can still be at greater risk from (insert some risk of falling off yer perch here) just because you fall into an older age group. Hence collecting a months supply of blood thinners this week. Getting old… not for sissies

After many years of waiting I finally have a date for my operation next month to cure the peripheral arterial disease I suffer from. Sod's Law says that on the day it might be cancelled as the local hospital is frequently wont to do. Where I live has a slope in the road around 1 in 50 for only 50 feet but even that defeats me and I have to sit down half way up. so sorry to hear that . very curious what op you will have . we used to have dreadful problems with folks with peripheral artery disease and wounds that wound not heal . we did doppler assessment of the various arteries in the foot and leg listening for biphasic sounds etc etc.

forgot i was mixing PA today so was a bit hassled . flipping feedback from 3 foldbacks caused a few loud noises that i hate . turned out a another mike was causing problems as someone fiddled with knobs . a number of volunteers have access to the mixing desk for various community events and just sometimes they press a button or undo one like phantom power to the DI boxes and not always easy to find the problem
enjoyed a walk in these beautiful Autumn colours this afternoon

Visited Oli today to listen to his wonderful system but mainly his Ekta speakers. I'll do a proper write-up on the session in the next couple of days but it has given me a lot to think about!

Phasic doppler noises are ok, ABI is better, always better to listen at the head of the fibula for the peroneal artery or even the popliteal if your doppler is sensitive enough.

Today I fell 3 metres off a ladder, which isn't as much fun as it sounds. A four hour stay in A&E, no broken bones, just a huge down-to-the-bone gash on my shin. Docs recommends I put my feet up for a few days. Fine by me saw this today and thought of you PP ladder by , on Flickr

A few years ago I was fitting windows at BAe Barrow-in-Furness, and there was a young electrician doing something similarly stupid. Site manager told him to stop that immediately. As soon as the bloke was gone, he was back up there. So of course he fell off, and was immediately marched of site, complete with limp, never to return. We've all done daft stuff, but a firm like BAe doesn't tolerate that kind of nonsense.

.. vacuumed the house from top to bottom, couldn't believe the amount of crap in the collector bin. Hadn't been done in a while, though there was sawdust from cutting the laminate for the new workshop floor, plus all the dross from the bottom of my toolbox when I dropped it, both in the second bedroom
