I don’t know why people are buying half finished carts. 😉 It's not a half finished cartridge, it would work perfectly well without the protective tape, that's only there to help keep the dust from getting in. So it would work perfectly well, without the tape - briefly? |

Well done Oli, that looks fine. I'm not sure how long it will last as the tape is a little stiffer than I'd imagined, but I have other options to try. Works well enough. |

I sold the Soekris to make an attempt for a Denafrips Terminator II, but the Windfeld just hasn't budged, so I didn't manage to free up the funds required. These things happen, so I thought this looked like a very interesting upgradeable project. So why not. |

you sold your Soekris since the meet the other week? Yes. I had a plan to sell the Soekris and the Windfeld to fund a Terminator II that's for sale on the WAM. All was going perfectly well.....the Soekris sold and then I got a buyer for the Windfeld.....or so I thought. He told me he needed a day or so to get the cash together, which at £1800 is understandable. Then I noticed a day or so later that suddenly this guy was trying to flog his cart....so obviously he didn't have the money. Then he decided to Sh#t on my threads because I was still bumping the cartridge.......because he hadn't paid for the cartridge! In between agreeing the sale of the Windfeld and seeing the potential buyers articles for sale, I sold the Soekris to a very lucky person on this forum, obviously thinking I was over the line. The Windfeld sale hasn't happened....there has been Zero other interest in it, and to be honest I am quite embarrassed at how the seller of the T2 has been messed about, albeit through no fault of my own. I have already posted the Soekris (I am OK with this, so don't worry new owner!) and replaced the Windfeld, so was left with my ass in my hands on the digital front. I'm disappointed with the fact I've not managed to get the T2, but I have used the money wisely and cleared some other money stuff off that was hanging around. That left enough for the TeraDak, and being the inquisitive soul I am, I bought one. Sometimes these things happen. I'm not emotional about HiFi equipment, I just like to try stuff. This DAC is interesting in multiple ways. I'll get genuine PCM63 chips, K or K2. I'll replace the opamps, I'll replace the capacitors in certain areas for Teflon...it'll be fun! Who knows, I may start a PCM63 revolution next! |

I bet he has the cash, no-one who is broke is buying £1800 pick-ups. If I were you I'd keep the Windfield, fit it to your arm, enjoy it with your favourite tunes, forget about what it cost. |
