How much was the T2 up for Oli? £2800 That gives me more of an idea of the two T+'s I have to trade in the next couple of weeks  |

One proud new owner of a Soekris dac, just had to go and pick it up from the PO collection centre, the delivery person couldn't have pressed our bell properly since the bell definitely did not ring, yet they posted through the letter box a couple of other bits! About to give it a try, sorry the Terminator II, and the sale of the Windfield not materialising.

Just a little update,
I dropped an email into TeraDak yesterday. I thought I'd enquire about the PCM63-K2 chips, and their origin.
The reply seems to confirm what I had read previously, and the chips are salvaged/used:
"Hi Oliver.
The PCM 63 is genuine, but it was disassembled. The new PCM63 is no longer produced. This chip is currently a disassembled chip, not a brand new chip, but I can guarantee that it is a genuine product.
TeraDak - Liang"
This is very encouraging news.

Looks like this may now not be happening as TeraDak has suspended production due to running out of PCM63 chips.
I think i may be cursed

I can find something that will do the job,or I have some 1702's use can use on a adapter board no problem happy to do that

It's been a funny 48 hours.
It seems my inquiry to the origin of the PCM63 chips prompted a reply from someone at Teradak who thought I was enquiring to buy one.
The "temporarily suspended" message to say they weren't able to make any more DACs was apparently due to me buying the last one they had chips for and they couldn't make another one for me......yes, I am confused too, but they are telling me that it's in production....which is great news! Except for the fact I may have already agreed to buy another DAC whilst awaiting my refund.
Yes......I know.
So, whilst I await the confirmation of postage for the Teradak, I am now deciding whether to press on regardless with the new DAC.
It's a good looking bit of kit, has some impressive attention to detail and is a bit "left field" so it's got my attention.
No details as of yet, you'll have to wait.

Yeah that's what I thought. The brand has a decent following in Denmark, but it hasn't seemed to cross the water. I am still talking to Ondrej (designer) at the moment but I am fancying a go at it |

So much potential in they to be extracted Oli, maybe he will supply you with the raw boards and you can build it yourself (save for the processor section). If I had to go valve (never) but if I did then I would take this in a heart beat over the Lampy crap, this guy has looked at the design well and cut no corners that I can see. Nice find |

No I was think of you getting the chap to supply the processor board already soldered for you, those packages can be a bit tricky if you don't have the right kit thats all.
