Cheers, Geoff. I thought I knew what a top flight turntable had to offer. Turns out there is another level. There’s just an absence of the limitations I hadn’t realised were even there until now.

More vinyl next methinks. BTW I’m using a Ringmat. I lift it off after listening, but it’s a great addition and edges the Origin Live mat.

Pity about the arm!... Couldn't be doing with them bolts... You can get a finger lift for as little as £1.67 including post from Hong Kong. You can get a Tabriz one for £12 which seems to look pretty similar as the £7 one, but is thinner. Think the cheap one looks best. There was only a few mostly SME types when I got one for my Tabriz.

There was only a few mostly SME types when I got one for my Tabriz. thanks for the reminder, I’ve got two of those finger lifts. One came with the Tabriz and I think the other is a Project. I got long bolts because I usually use an AT-OC9. Even still, I made a boob because they are far too long. I’m still struggling with metric lol. I’m extremely surprised by the Tabriz zi. On visual inspection alone, I’d expected it to sound like a cheap arm. I’ve also used that Isoda cable as a regular interconnect and hated it. Now I’m once again finding my past experiences and assumptions hold no value. So my main system is complete. All I have to do now is ensure reliability. I will likely get a spare CD mech in and oil the inverted turntable bearing at some point, but I won’t be messing with it anytime soon. I will seek out a second Campion with I will use in a second system but can always rely on if I have a fault in the other one, I’m giving up on an Alabaster or Orton because I just love this baby amp as it is. Why mess with something when you’re this happy? The Spicas are simply my kind of speaker and they are significantly better than the TC50s which I loved, Stick or twist is an easy decision. Oh, and in case anyone asks, I won’t be streaming or doing anything involving computer audio!

I just bought a couple of the cheap ones at £1.87. The seller has a few turntable accessories. I also got 4 red felt mats. Well they were only £2.50. Pity he didn't have blue. Got a retractable record brush for £3 too.
If you remember the Hunt EDA brush you can get them unbranded for £5 from various sellers.
Sorry. Not a gold fan, either Hi-Fi, watches or bidet fittings. Only exception was an Aston Martin DB5 model I had when 10.

Silver is usually more my thing, but the same turntable in chrome just isn’t as attractive to me. I have a pic of the Gold Classic mk3 and zooming in shows a price tag of 6800 Euros. Not user I’d pay that much unless it used Krugerrand for platter weights.

I wouldn't want one, not even a real one. The DB6 was a better car, but that was also pretty limited in ability. The 'E' Type was more capable, but I'd not want that either. Just give me the cash!

Maybe I’m not as fussy, but I’d have any and every car I could get with an Aston Martin badge.

Think I'd skip the Astons and if I had to opt for a vintage classic sports car maybe one of these two. Possibly the most beautiful cars ever made. A sixties Maserati Ghibli. Or a sixties Ferrari 275 GTB 4. The Ferrari is my favourite, but it's a very close thing.

Yeah the Gibil is pretty much the one. For Astons I always fancied a Lagonda back in the 80s.

No real interest in cars now. The Lotus 7 and Austin A35 were two I had affection for.
Hadn't had a car in over 30 years but got one last year for changing to shifts at work (which didn't happen with my department), and got one of these. It was either that, a Mini or an MX5. Didn't like the panel layout of the Mini and the MX5 I couldn't make my mind up. Went for the Copen 1.3 as it's pretty neat; didn't realize it was so small. The rides a bit on the hard side. I like it because it's different and I've only seen 3 others. It'll see me out I suppose.

But when you open the Ferrari bonnet, there's a gorgeous four cam V12 with six twin choke Webers on top. Pure car porn!!

I’ve spent all day listening to vinyl on tne main system with a proper MC cart. It’s my best vinyl setup ever and it’s more than a subtle step up. Now I’m upstairs really loving Cd through the little TPA3116 amp. It has such a rightness about it, I really have come to love the wee thing. I still can’t believe it sees off other very good amps, but it clearly does. Sonically and musically it’s a great amp. For a second system I couldn’t want more.

I'm still very happy with the sound through the Tannoys. It seems to suit them well.

I’ve just bought a brand new AT-OC9 cartridge from the USA. I’m not sure when it will arrive, but the AT-OC7 I have is like new and had very little use. The suspension is as it should be too, so I’m planning to keep,it in place and only break out th OC9 when I’ve put a lot of hours on the OC7. Could be quite a long time but I’m so happy I see no point in rushing to break open a new cart.
The OC9 has been my favourite cartridge of all the ones I have had, so buying one at a good price has been my aim for a while. Not sure how much ditynand vat I will be hit with but the cart and post were only £170 so it will still be cheap.

Your VAT will be 20%, duty you can look up at HMRC site but it isn't straightforward unless you know the exact category. Plus the clearance fee. I'd guess about sixty quid all in
