Went to see him at the Anvil in Basingstoke a few months ago, excellent concert and a really nice guy. He's definitely not up himself like some me performers, he came out and helped man the concession stand during the break, chatting with fans, signing stuff etc. Even his chats/short stories between songs felt as though he was addressing you personally.

Well having finally sorted my Linn Classik, new belts and mech. I have employed it as a cd player into my DCB1 and onward. Sounds OK! Just spinning some cds for the 1st time through my Firebottle monos and Tannoys.

Me too, vinyl and cd's all I need, I alternate between the two which means long long life on de ole stylus, even better the PD-91 sounds like good vinyl to my ears, what's not to like? - happy days

Just passing manchester conference centre and what do i see ?? Richer sounds Popped in to see the lovely guys there and just try out an audio analogue aa line cd transport .beautifully made and heavy build .buttons underneath but you could get used to that .2k
The lovely thing is there is a window on top and you can see the cd go in and rise up inside .very smooth drawer and nice but smallish display
Downsides ,no eject button on remote which is heavy metal and nicely built Nor does it tell you in minutes where you are in a track which is useful when the telephone rings
Plus points it has a decent rca coax and aes and zero drive noise .very very nice bit of kit
Anyone tried one ?

It is a bit of a strange one for a company called Audio Analogue to be producing a CD Digital drive though , or is that just me ?

It's doesn't seem TEAC and Atoll share the same approach... I wasn't impressed by the interior photo and what it implied about the design. OTOH the Alpha Audio guys did a livestream comparison of it and five other CD tranports in that price range and it came out on top. Listening impressions on:
Roksan Atessa - 700 Euro Atoll DR200 - 1550 Euro NuPrime CDT-8 - 1200 Euro Tentlabs B-Drive - 1300 Euro Cyrus CD-T - 1500 Euro Audiolab 9000 series - 1200 Euro

seen the nuprime around which has good rep , very nearly bought a cdt9000 yesterday as was shopping and the town has 2 stockists , but waiting for something better maybe . thanks for video
cyrus are brilliant sonically but they always break down sadly and multiple thousands of internet pages attest to that

CDT9000 compared to the others seemed to be trying too hard to be resolving and detailed but wasn't putting it together well enough to musically compete with the others. Cyrus sounded great to them, impressive and enjoyable but left them feeling it was slightly technicolour and so not quite natural. I've heard some say the same things about Chord DACs -- all a matter of taste.

What was their system they did the listening with?

After many an hour f@rting and fiddling I have managed to get the Kenwood DP-X9010 CDT working properly. I managed to insert a rod into the plastic of the front panel to support the play button, as the original plastic hinge had broken, one problem fixed. The tray and mechanism on these players is superb, however the sled is moved using a linear motor which I think has lost some of its power. It is basically a couple of magnets energising a central armature with a driven coil around it. I know this player has had a knock in the past from distortion of the potted mains transformer bottom bracket. I suspect the magnets have weakened. A 'thinking out of the box' solution was required so I have fitted a long spring to assist the sled in moving backwards, hey presto it works perfectly. How does it sound I hear you asking? Absolutely superb, so precise and crystal clear. Worth the agro.

I thought It was Olis’ for a second . I’m interested in any mods you have done Alan? Or might It actually be unmodded still?
