My system spend would not buy a house at any time after about 1970.
In today's market it would get me a 1990 Ford Fiesta XR2i with 120K on the clock, rusty sills and seized wheels. Which is surprising really.

My 2022 plans, stop listening to Oli and letting him spend my dosh.
Only half kidding, but I've got through some in the past year.

My first house I purchased in 1984 for the princely sum of £18,450 a one bedroom Barrat rabbit warren, mortgage was £78 a month oh how times have changed!
The Toy's are genuine works purchases being test and measurment equipment for the various projects we are involved with.
Personal audio currently I am dac hunting so go through one of two another one has turned up this afternoon, one more Wadia to go by Friday and thats it for this week.
I am very lucky Anne has her own listening room which I have kitted out for her, she has the Tad R-1's I make do with the CR-1's who says equality is here!!

I'm surprised you've allowed him to keep the standard arm so long..... As I said to Alan the standard arms are actually decent if the bearings are good and have no play but my experience with 1210's is garnered mostly from playing techno.... So my opinion may be less valid .... I have heard some with Jelco's though and they sound superb, although they had a few other supporting mods to go with.

Well, I have been hinting but unfortunately now a viable arm has turned up, Alan is MIA!!!

The stock arm is good but you can always do better than good. Put it this way there's no point doing anything else to it until you've put a better arm on it.

Dave,
I am very lucky a decent woman is very hard to find and when you do, do not let them go imho.
Anne loves music as much as myself and is a great beta tester for many things, although she doesn't care for the terminology she has a great way of discribing sound.
It's scratchy = Its a naim type bright sound, too much soft poo = crappy ploddy bass, saucepan voices = mid range suck out, Mr. Whippy = Vanilla boring as hell. Bugger ooof = need to rethink the design lol

I hope you have been putting aside a few pounds each week/month for when your tax bill arrives. I opened a new account with one of the building society's for just that purpose.

Based on my previous statement, I have ordered the newer version of the Audio GD DI, some SAEC Triple C speaker cable, interconnect cables and some OCC plugs.
We are still in 2021, so why the heck not?
I have not really, but I just wanted to see the reaction it got….

My challenge for '22... ... I am totally happy with my system atm. It suits me perfectly. How long can I resist the urge to change something?

Hmm, the spare bits are rather good. I'm deliberately keeping them so I can swap around a bit and then return to my faves reassured.
A cunning plan, but will it work?

Jerry you have as much chance as not changing ANY component in your system as quantum computing will be standing still in 2022
