Projects for 2022. Looking out for some new phonostages and then maybe finishing off my Thorens TD160 mini project. I am looking out for one too, but not in a positive sense (for my bank account). I am going to try and avoid hearing one for as long as possible….

2022. Hopefully sell my Icon Audio MB845SEs (if not already gone) a Koetsu Black and Very early (April 63) Garrard 401 so I can recoup some money. It would be nice if I could then actually keep hold of the money and have the system settle for a year, but not sure I'm that disciplined especially with the BBu tempting me. Slight change to my original 2022 plans. The Icons are staying, the Nords are out on loan/audition so wi hopefully sell, and the Koetsu Black is already sold. This leaves me auditioning the BBu and probably the BT2 (so possibly the MFA Baby Ref going), additionally I'd like to go some basic hifi diy and assemble a 1 make full Loom. I will ask advice on this once my wallet recovers, as can't sell my assorted branded kettle leads, Chord Signature SCs or Audioplan Musicable ICs until I have replacements. Hopefully my soldering skills are up to the task, well I can make loading plugs so how hard can it be for an electronics muppet??

You'll be knocking up 300B amps I'm no time lol

Had no plans this year and have no plans for next year. Though I did buy a new dac, two identical transports and double up on psu and 25% VA increase in my monoblocks.
I should probably sell some old stuff.

Imho stranded cables I prefer Yeah, I agree but have no technical excuse for why. In fact, in the Allen wright tube cook book, he specifically states that solid core should be used......what does he know ay ,🤣

I will now look forward to a review of the two triple c cables Chop chop

I have bought the last pair of valves I was looking for. A matched pair if Orega CIFTE PCC88. Lets see how long I can last without buying anymore HiFi... (I guess I should stop visiting forums?).

I've not bought anything since the end of September. That's 2 and a half months. Can anyone beat that?

Wanted to finish my Tannoys, got then up and running so that's close enough, will need to spend time on the veneer and oiling next but that can wait.

I have kept to my goal of reducing the test equipment spend under five figures a months (thats a big thing here!)
Audio personally around 11 pieces in the last 10 days right across the price ranges and it neer ceases to amaze me how good the older stuff is!

That's both reassuring and worrying all at the same time Tony . . . . (about the old vs new gear, you spend what you want on test equipment!) . . .

It's been probably 10 years since I last had a "new" purchase, I just upgrade what I already have which is more cost effective for my wallet.

What I've spent on hifi in the last 18 months would have bought my 1st house, and covered a full rewire, new kitchen & bathroom, central heating and complete redecoration by tradesmen.

To right. I don't want some bint telling me to stick the speakers in the corner out of they way so she can have a bloody dining table & chairs sat in the middle of the room doing nothing for 99% of the year.
