Out of stock, but I will contact them to see when/if they will be getting anymore.
I am hoping that I will have an agreed sale on the FB Monos this week. The funniest part is that I probably did not need to fit new front panels to them...

If the FB Monos sell, I may put the Mod-86 up for sale so that I have the funds to order the amp boards.
I always have the Proprius Monos when they are not on loan, and an Arcam Alpha 10P that I can fall back on.
Sure, they won't sound the same, but it gwts me a step closer to my 686.

Popped up a note on AoS, and I have already had a nibble on the Mod-86s. I guess I had better get the Proprius out of the cupboard.

I have not put a price up, but pretty much looking at what I paid for them. €620 seems fair to me.
Out of interest, what soft start do you have in your 686? Audiophonics are quoting 3 months for the one Simon recommends.

Yep. I was shocked. I have to say that Mouser have fantastic service. My parts ordered last week arrived today. Just waiting for the PCB now.

And the Mod-86 may have found a new home. I should be able to order the remaining bits to finally build my 686 soon.

Just the soft start option to clarify. I think the rest is clear, apart from the misc. parts I need to get, like input filter etc.

I still need a few bits, but it could be finished for Christmas. In the meantime, I have to possibly put up with a less than perfect Alpha 10P.

Connex in the US have them in stock. I am sure I can order one direct, rather than go through Audiophonics (who also sell Neurochrome parts as well).

Now I am focusing on the case. A Modushop Dissipante 4U/400, in black. How does the case customisation work? I have the CAD file from Tom, and want the holes done in the back panel. Almost tempted to get the panels engraved at the same time.

I think I need to tweak the cad file. Tom has a single traffo, I have two... I think I want to change the mounting slightly on the heat sinks, but I am worried about getting it wrong. Could be an expensive mistake. I want mine in a similar layout to this one here, but based on a 400mm chassis, not the 300 mm he used.

If youre using modushop, have them tap the holes to Tom's dimensions, but your placement. I snapped drills in my chassis due to Sh#t Chinese alloy.

Is there anybody kind enough to check my CAD drawing to see if i have messed anything up? Basically, I have moved the Guardian 686 and Power 686 boards on the side panels, to make room for the traffos. I just want to see if it makes sense, as I used a free CAD package, with limited capabilities. I also deleted the trigger input, and grew the power switch hole to 19mm to fit one like I used on the FB monos. Neurochrome MOD686 Stereo - Binding Posts -....dwg (114.84 KB)

I guess my other option is to put a mezzanine floor in for the Power686, and fit the traffos in the middle of the case, and leave everything where it was originally? Probably a safer option.

No. It is one of Mr Firebottle's creations.
