Furious that many people regarded this weekend as a bank holiday and flocked to parks and beaches in their crowds with not a care in the world Maybe they won't get a severe dose, but they will get it at some point as most of us will and the whole thing is to prevent the NHS being overloaded too quickly.
I bet Boris will go into full 'cross parent' mode this evening and we'll go into full lockdown - but many people had it coming sadly Best that lockdown is done very very soon. 36 year old nurse on a ventilator in Walsall- no previous conditions. Bloody hell. Forget all the stuff about civil liberties if control isn’t taken rapidly we will be another Italy .. or by looking at the behaviour of far too many people this weekend possibly even worse.

I was in the checkout queue on Saturday and in front of me was a fat bint with a large trolley full of food with 3 large (32) packs of bog rolls perched on top, so I said to her "what do they taste like?" she scowled at me and looked as though she was going to take a swing at me, so I told her to put two back before I set fire to them. She did. Mind you, her arse was enormous so a roll or two would be needed each time she took a dump. Loads of them round here.
They say we can go 3 minutes without air, 3 days without water and 3 weeks without food but some of these people could easily manage 3 months on their fat reserves alone. They must go through a whole trolley-full of grub in one day. No wonder they're panic buying.
I'm surprised the supply chain can keep them in food even in normal circumstances let alone now.

I'm ashamed sometimes. Those crowds at the weekend are just beyond my comprehension. Well natural selection is about to get very busy, no doubt it will weed out some of the stupid in due course, assisted by their behaviour.

We already are. In fact, things are marginally worse now than they were for Italy over the same time period, and as we're about two weeks behind them, watch this space. It doesn't look good for the hospitals nor those seriously affected I'm afraid. Perhaps now the idiots refusing to social distance might take note. The other disgrace was that the shortage of gowns and masks for our brave NHS staff wasn't helped by the French seizing and holding in customs major supplies of the medical PPE bound for the UK. They refused to release it until some pretty high-up phone calls were made, and only now is the consignment on its way.

Excellent, good news needs to be shared, the company is Airbus.
Lord knows what their future prospects are after this pandemic.

The reason I am working from home is that they have donated thousands of masks etc. to the medical staff that need them. The aircraft is expected to do a return run to China this week.

For anyone like me who has asthma there is some up to date info here about risk levels based on the levels and type of medication you are taking and the new GVT health guidelines on high risk conditions. There is also some more general advice about Covid symptoms etc and when to call 111 etc. Asthma advice
PS - don't be put off by the "donation" tag in your browser the info is free.

Just found my wife in tears as she had received a text purporting to be Coronavirus NHS advisors. It said that she had been identified as being ultra vulnerable and that she was not to leave the house, only open windows and keep 3 steps away from all others in the house. Having just been through chemo, surgery and radiotherapy she thought it was genuine. It even had a real link to UK gov advice website. What sort of sick F#ck does this kind of stuff?

That’s what we feared initially However this has happened a lot just recently and sent to people who do not fall into the vulnerable category. We found quite a few online reports about it, including people who chased up the NHS about it. When you think about it, who would recommend staying 3 steps away from other householders?

Thanks Paul.. we will be doing! With Coronavirus being so infectious it’s hard to imagine genuine advice being to stay 3 paces away from other people in the house. Anyway, the Christie cancer hospital advised today that her Herceptin and Pertuzumab treatments are still scheduled for Friday.

It was genuine. Seems that as of yesterday the view on those people having immunotherapy was that they are now classified as extremely vulnerable, and require shielding. We had seen one of the main consultant oncologist last Weds who told us that chemo took 4 months to get back to normal immune levels, and radiotherapy presented a limited reduction. Looks like the goalposts are changing daily,

Went for a stressful food-shop today and to be fair, not many people about at all. A good few police patrol cars cruising around which we rarely see normally. The few people keeping distance and smiling acknowledgement - I think the crowding problems here on the prom were day trippers at the weekend as the mainly elderly residents here (60%+ over 60) have a bit more sense. Having said that, a couple of older couples having a sun-bathe and a picnic in the gardens, albeit away from each other - ! As I'm 'at risk' I stayed in the car while herself did the shopping. Still a lot of smoking and vaping going on. As this is a respiratory illness, isn't that asking for trouble?

My missus also got the same text message yesterday so it is genuine. Had the official letter today to back it up.
I'm surprised that I haven't received the same message, but I'm assuming they are phasing them with the most urgent first.

Still a lot of smoking and vaping going on. As this is a respiratory illness, isn't that asking for trouble? I went for a blood test yesterday and the young nurse asked if I smoked during the routine questions.
She said it might be a good job I am a smoker as no self respecting virus could find a single millimetre of clean lung tissue to latch onto. She might have a point, as there must be at least 5mm of soot, tar and other crap filling my lungs afer 50 years of smoking
Wouldn't it be really ironic that those smoke filled pubs and clubs of yesteryear could have sterilised the coronavirus floating around in the air, while we have all been exhorted to give it up?

Unless it's part of what is deemed an essential development, I think that your boss may well be wrong. The building site workers around here have all shut up shop and gone home. Will he pay the fine for you if you are stopped? That would be an interesting conversation (my guess is "no"). A few areas are apparently giving a few days' grace to some like the car body workshop mine was at yesterday...he had 3 cars in, including mine and was told that he should finish them off then shut up shop. I got a call from him to say he had cleared it, and could I come in and pick it up first thing which I wasn't expecting. Roads were largely deserted and mostly trucks on the motorway....very few cars. I think, alongside NHS staff, truckers I'm seeing in a new light as they're the forgotten heroes too., Without them none of us would survive as we'd soon run out of things.

I've got to go in tomorrow. I'm not doing an essential job so I'm wondering if I'll be breaking the law. Is there actually a law in place now?
I asked if I could dress down and was told no. lol.
