Sour dough! We will do that when our yeast runs out. Flat bread It’s what Fiona did for us last night. Apparently it’s just flour, olive oil and water and salt. Was ok actually!

My missus makes our bread bit the flour shelves were bare at Tesco's. I wish I had more faith in human nature. Because in North Yorkshire I've seen very little charitable behaviour. Here I fear they'd steal old peoples food rather than help them. Not nice, but that's the way it is. The farming community is the most selfish in my experience. They'd let everyone die rather than not have a new range rover ever year.

The sh*t hasn't really hit the fan up here in the north east yet, and until the local braindead morons see someone drop dead right next to them they are going to carry on as normal, sod the advice! The few elderly friends I've talked to are just as scared of starving to death, which judging by the state of the supermarkets is a real possibility, as they are this pandemic. It will change in a week or so. People will start to notice that their neighbor's are struggling. We have just fetched some bits for an elderly lady and I've asked for a shopping list. Said it'll take a few days and probably wont get everything all at once, but it will come. The one thing the older generation have is the ability to make bread etc, so I have to find live yeast from somewhere lol Dried yeast should be available.

I can see the government now introducing food rationing because estimates of the value of hoarded food and groceries now tops over £1Billion which is quite staggering. This to me is as much a danger to society as the virus itself. These selfish people, these greedy individuals who are currently stockpiling don't get it. If they behaved rationally and selflessly, things would tick along much as they are now, with few shortages. As it stands, more people are set to suffer because of this abhorrent behaviour of many. Because of this, the government may well introduce food rationing and in doing so increase the cost and burden of administering basic necessities of life. I'm ashamed to be British at times like this. The death rate as a percentage of reported cases is now close to 5% in the UK, so higher than some other countries, and yes, our infection and death rate is so far mirroring that of Italy with little chance now that we'll fare any better. People need to start taking this more seriously and also need to start thinking of their neighbours and stop the hoarding. Personally I see no change happening and within 2 weeks predict rationing will be brought in and extra control measures imposed on us all, with curfews being imposed. To be entirely fair, the death rate is likely artificially high at the moment due to the stats are based on confirmed cases vs. death rate. As they are only testing people that have been admitted to hospital with systems the number is likely to be a magnitude lower than currently recorded.

I would normally agree with you and I’m sorry that I specifically picked on Dave’s post. His opinion is his own and he’s welcome to it in a democratic society, but it doesn’t make it any less ignorant or selfish. This type of opinion and behaviour has the potential to kill more people that wouldn’t have otherwise died. Look at the swarm of idiots that have headed to the beach or wherever yesterday and ignored the Governments advise to social distance. It really does feel like we are living in the time of moron at the moment. I dont disagree that the opinion displayed, is one that has an element of "sort sightedness" but once again, we arent here to make people feel bad about their opinion. As stated before, it's perfectly ok to disagree and to point out where the shortcomings of someones opinion lie, but it's not ok to attack the individual. If Dave doesn't give a Sh#t about potentially saving lives, that's up to him. Fair enough, I’ll leave it there with this point then. Being someone with a pre existing serious health condition and having a son who spent a fortnight on a ventilator when he was 8 month old (he’s now 2), due to a virus and bacterial infection, I am a little hyper sensitive to the current situation.

I am starting to get concerned, as I had a sore throat and now feel like I have something starting to develop on my chest. No temperature, or flu like symptoms yet though.

The worry can cause a lot of "illness" so try to relax until it's pretty certain. Fingers crossed you've just been singing too much?

No flu symptoms is the key point. I am unlikely to get it, as I am not going out.

The missus has discovered how to make flatbread from just equal parts greek yoghurt and sf flour. Bit like a naan bread. You can even substitute bananas for the greek yoghurt, it's not Hovis but it's better than nowt. Imagine giving the young uns a bag full of bread ingredients and leaving them to it , bring back domestic science in schools, I was mint at rock cakes and cocnut haystacks.

If it's correct what I read that the death rate increased 30% in a single day yeaterday I am now officially bricking it. Obviously the figures are being manipulated but 30% up in one day, your chosen deity help us all.

Trying despertely to lighten the mood, but just think how much lovely hifi gear is gonna be up for grabs after this . No offence but most of us on here are going to be knockin on a bit(excluding our whippersnapper Ringmaster who I believe is in his 30s), I'm only 55 so if any of you coffin dodgers out there would care to add me as a beneficiary in your will I would be most grateful. Lets face it whose missus would keep their hifi gear after they've gone? Please, only good quality digital gear as I can't be arsed to faff around with dem weird radiograms you lot seem so keen on. Imagine having to stand up and go through the ritual, and it is a ritual, every 20mins or so to have some tunes on, madness!!

Iam hearing news that wealthy Londoners especially, as well as other areas of the country are upping sticks and heading for their second homes down here in Cornwall. So far the county has relatively few cases, but I can see it being imported big time with all these people heading here. It will be even worse from now on as the warm season approaches and the advice "not to travel" will of course not apply all to these Sh#t-for-brains.
THANKS A BUNCH YOU SELFISH CNUTS
Got a good mind to head over to places like Rock with a big barrel of petrol and if I don't, I can forsee some angry locals doing just that.

You're not alone, Scotland's kicking off about the multitudes of selfish motorhomers and caravanners invading the Highlands.
I own a campervan and it's staying put in storage until after this is over.
Weren't the welsh torching second homes not so long ago?

I have been out in my garden for about 40 minutes now, and not one car has driven past. I like to get my daughter outside as often as possible, as fresh air is good for you. With a 2 acre garden we have plenty of space to self isolate.
People are taking this seriously now. My wife went to the local market this morning to buy the fruit and veg direct from the farmers where possible. It is usually packed there. She said there were 30 people max there this morning.
Apparently the first doctor has died from it today here in France. Not a good sign.
