I am looking forward to trying this in the M55e cartridge, apparently it is even better than the original stylus Shure used to manufacture. I don't doubt this knowing the stylus I have had from Jico in the past.

Did you end up going for the Zirconium?

Did you end up going for the Zirconium? No because I have read that it is too fragile and snaps easily so I have emailed Jico to ask if they could make one with a Boron cantilever.

Nice, what stylus profile did you end up with?

I am going to do a lockdown bake off between the AT95ex and the Shure M55e Jico soon. It will be an interesting listen as both are eliptical stylus but will no doubt produce a different performance.
I guess the Audio Technica will be slightly more detailed and analytical and the Shure will give a broader, fuller picture....we will see.

I'm waiting for my Cadenza black to come back from Holland. It will be interesting to compare it against the Phasemation 300 I had sitting in my 401 deck. It's having the full monty done.

The FGS is fantastic, very similar to the the replicant stylus on the Ti I think, so the Cadenza should turn out great.
My 2M Black FGS is still the best cartridge/stylus I have had.

The 2M Black FGS could go on your much mooted PTP 6 mega build?

The 2M Black FGS could go on your much mooted PTP 6 mega build? That would be perfect. Just trying to think of tonearm and I do fancy Oliver's suggestion of the Phonomac AT1010.
Most of the other bits are sorted in my head.
Plinth - maybe off the shelf from the German manufacturer I mentioned or Acoustand.
PTP6
Tonearm - At1010? Cartridge FGS 2M Black
The build is definitely a retirement project but I could start collecting the bits........

I’m bound to say it.. but the Phonomac AT1010 is just brilliant. You can change decks and cartridges around it, but it is just outstanding.

Nigel's PSU looks to be good - I bought 2 boards from the original batch but never got around to building them - might start collecting the parts and get one built this year!!

Can you still get the boards ? Every time I see them on LencoHeaven there's a ''sold out '' next to the thread title .

Its a Shure thing... Pins cleaned on the M55e. They were black! Andy, the M55 is USA manufacture.

Jim,
It's pretty widely accepted the M55E's from Mexico were of a poorer build quality. I have a M55E from the USA as well and I also cleaned the hell out of my pins. You now need to calculate how much capacitance the M55E is seeing. You'll need to take into consideration every connector from the cartridge tags on your tonearm right down to the RCA's in your phonostage. I think they usually like to "see" 400-500 pF. You can still check the Shure website from the correct amount of capacitance loading. So the M44-7 is your 9.5mV monster!!! I see it majors in bass output, probably not a good idea with my huge tannoys in my listening room and EAR 834p clone!!!!!!!!! Probably well too much output for bass with all that lot. I look forward to hearing your findings.

Are you talking about Mexican & USA made M55E's? The M55e cartridge has made in the USA on the back.
Look what I dug out today...shocking. No wonder I could not set up the arm properly.
Oh jeez! That's an issue lol
