I have now done just over 1000km in the Skoda. Over that distance I have averaged 116mpg, thanks to the battery range covering most of my daily running around.
Next time I go on a long journey, the 116mpg is going to suffer.
Happy with the new barge so far. It is comfortable, and quiet, and takes all of the sh#t in the boot my wife think is necessary for a weekend away...

If you don’t have to use the ICE, the economy will be good.

Longer nights are coming, so my attention is starting to refocus on HiFi.
I have one projects I would like to comolete this winter, and that is a new pre amplifier to suit my 686.
Any suggestions for a good DIY project?

Thanks for the info on the pre. I need to look I to if I can use the RCA outputs of the Pre90 to drive a headphone amp, at the same time as the XLR. Other thoughts were on the Neurochrome. Has does your new pre compare to that? Well there is bugger all between them measurement wise. The BT2 buffers the signal on the input and the output, which the Neurochrome doesn't I don't think. Neurochrome does balanced, the BT2 doesn't....deliberately. Less components on the BT2 BT2 is £50 cheaper at least...not worked it out yet, but could be more👍 Bigman80 Any news on BT2 prices yet? Is it ever going to be offered as a kit?

Once I know the cost of the build, I can set the price. No plans for it to be DIY at the moment. Although I'm not adverse to Bigbottle owners building one of their own. Leave it with me.

I have been looking around for a suitable replacement for my Alps Blue, ideally compatible with the remote control.
It seems that a TKD 2CP-2511 MC may be an iption, as tbe remote Acoustics Dimension SA is still not available.
Any other alternatives woryh looming at?

I will be getting one of these Motor devices for my phonomac made stepped attenuator. www.bentaudio.com/parts/step.htmlMight be worth considering due to the lack of AD ones available

I am looking for a drop in solution, which ideally is compatible with the Glasshouse remote system in my Kin.
I don't want to have to modify the Kin too much.

Exactly. Just concerned that I may mess something up if I am not careful.

I will ask A-D if they are likely to get any more at some point.
The remote is useful, if not necessary...

So the next question is, how much will it cost for a Goldpoint SA with remote, plus the modifications needed to get it working?

For the sake of simplicity, I am tempted to go for the TKD.
I have put up a wanted add on AoS for an AD SA, but I doubt one will turn up.

The blurb:
The TKD (Ko-on) potentiometers one of the best potentiometers in current production today. They are popular with numerous manufacturers such as Audio Note, LAMM and Kondo. TKD has an excellent feel and provides a clean dynamic sound. Their conductive tracks are made from laser-trimmed conductive plastic taper, offering excellent channel balance. They are almost as good for this as stepped attenuators built with high tolerance resistors. These potentiometers are stereo logarithmic potentiometers. The price of the motorised version is just a touch above that of the manual versions.

I think I have a plan.... I am going to fit a 100K SA without remote, and see how I get on with it. The remote will still mute the sound for those annoying times the wife is shouting to get my attention, as she can't be bothered to walk up the stairs...

Oh that's so annoying, one's other half trying to talk to you from another room, don't they realise the masking effect of the music.. Have you bought it already Kevin? I have a switched attenuator here for £90.
