With a wait on the cards now to get a couple of phonostages done, I turned my attention to the Bigbottle AWM Buffer Preamp....which will be called the "Bigbottle AWM-BT2" FOR NOW. The case is a typical standard Chinese unit and if it's not visually spectacular, it is really well made, heavy, sturdy and well finished. This one will have to trave the width of the globe to its new owners system....hence the emphasis on a robust case! I've added some aftermarket feet as the standard ones are shockingly poor plastic types. The new ones are billeted Alu and have a little damping ring on the bottom. Lovely stuff! At the moment I have just been working on the layout of the components with a view to getting started this week. Parts list is very good quality, as one comes to expect A Walt Jung Power supply PCB and a James Transformers O-Core will form the PSU. The metal L bracket will hold the selector switch and the AWM custom made Stepped Attenuator. I am going to fit a copper shield over the PCB If i can, as the wiring from the sockets will pass over it. May not do much, or even be necessary, but it's only a couple of quid extra. CMC sockets and Spotfire OCC wiring should be sufficient for the hooking up and some brass extender rods from the front panel to the controld will finish this off nicely. Flexible shaft couplers will give a very stable feel and hopefully absorb a little vibration. Who knows! Looking forward to this...as eventually I will be doing my own.

Why not fit a relay selector board next to the sockets, much tidier. Only need a single pole selector switch then.
