I don't care if they're subjective either. If they work for you they might work for others. So long as they don't cost more than say £30 we'r can include them. From squash balls to Bent'isms. . Right ...my biggy. Years ago I discovered this by accident and it definitely will Change the sound of your system. I wrote in to the mags and a certain HiFi Choice Journo next week instead of printing the letter wrote a whole piece championing it as his revelation. They did ther same later when I suggested cat litter to fill speaker stands. , the rats! Ready ... it's easy. .. OPEN THE DOORS ! I tell ya. Open the listening room doors ! Listen to that sound clear up and lose it blurred edges. It can have its drawbacks obvIously . Like freezing your balls off or getting evicted but surely it's worth it ?

Yer quite correct no argument there.
I use sand from the Gold Mine dumps we have around the city for speaker stands. Although there are not many left since they started recycling them.

They recycle gold mines ? 😕 No the dumps for crying out loud, heaven knows where they dump the remains, still full of arsenic, lot of gold still left in them hills pilgrim. And just after they found a grass that would grow on them, the dust from those things used to be dire. Full of uranium as well radioactive as F#ck we all glow in the dark as for the effects on our health nothing out of the ordinary. Bastards even recycled this one, it had a drive in on top called The Top Star, ha d many a feel up there. It was right in the middle of the city all gone now. You can see the screen in the picture. and what is left of the road to the top. It is long gone now.

And the dwellings and the jobs I suppose. Anyway. I got another one. You might not believe it till you try it. If you're struggling over a detail in a piece of music. Bass or treble or whatever. Play the track. And open your mouth wide ! Don't force it , just let it hang open ! I kids you not ! It opens the pipes up in your upper jaw and ears. I learned it from a book on the war where the squaddies were trying to hear the enemy in the jungles.. I thought I'd try in with music...And it works ! Only do it in private though coz you really will look like a prize twat !

So that is why the rugby team is full of bigguns then? That and Biltong, Castle Lager and Boerewors, and lots of very tasty Afrikaans girls whos accent would even give a statue a woody. Just do not get on the wrong side of one if you do run for cover.

A paper cut-out to sit between outer platter and sub platter works well on lInn decks. Never tried it on a Xerxes but I really should have.

Putting pasta under your equipment as feet.
Placing place mats on top of your equipment.
Apparently.

Black ravioli - pasta? Placemats have to be granite, but they are supposed to damp down any vibration in the case.

What , just a round piece with a hole in ? Kinda like a ring. If you look at an LP 12 sub platter, it has a cut-away ring on the outside that the outer platter sits on. The paper ring needs to match this size and shape.

Remove all fuses from your kit and insert coat hanger wire wrapped in tin foil.

Biggest upgrade I had was getting a dog, although it wasn't free. Now and then he stands in front of the speaker so I tell him to move and he just gets out of the way of the music. Big step up...
I bought another dog too but getting them to coordinate getting out of the way is a bit more troublesome. It seems to be one or the other, I seem to be lacking an element of synergy here or I'm just experiencing diminishing returns...

Will the dogs have any trade in value or do they just need to go in a box in the loft?
