Yep that's where I got my copy from. Took a while to arrive and to be fair it was the TP I really wasn't bothered about but at that price....
Last time I looked on Amazon it was £65....

The one I payed most for was actually Supergrass - I should Coco.
Next was The Moody Blues - Days of future passed.
Sabbath, Tull, VDGG, all circa £150.
I actually bought Bowie's Aladdin Sane for £36......Insane.

At least now I can stop worrying about the Blue Note stuff I’ve been buying each month, pales into insignificance compared with your haul....
I had a few Dylan bootleg series in my basket a while back and my wife said “£150 for three records!!!” I need to introduce you to her......

I've sold records for over £100 but the one I paid the most for was a Mobile Fidelity copy of Exodus - Bob Marley. £65.

And do you like the Mofi edition ? It's a little bit bass heavy but it's better than both the original and the reissue from a couple of years back. I'd like to try the 40th Anniversary Edition which has some reworking of the original recordings by Bob's son Ziggy who also remastered the 40th anniversary release of Kaya which is pretty good. I do find the mofi releases a bit hit and miss though I was bought the recent One Step copy of What's Going On as a present and it's ok and does improve on the original but doesn't warrant the $125 price tag where as the Kind of Blue, Round About Midnight and In a Silent way reissues I have are excellent but I suppose the quality of the original recordings was very good to begin with. Some of the cheaper 'Silver Label' series though good value are also a bit hit and miss I had a couple of early Rod Stewart that I sold on but kept the Bill Evans and Jim Hall - Undercurrent. I suppose where first press copies are price prohibitive then the mofi reissues are a cost effective alternative. |
