Christ... that’s ... majestic Dining room. I’ll have the cat pic, Uncle Earnest oil pic, the Greek Orthodox icon and the wine Take a fortnights holiday just to browse the books. It would serve my wife right for thinking about downsizing

Did you spot the Lyre on the bedside cabinet ? No! But if you stayed over for the night, you’d wake up around 2:30 and it would be playing by itself.

If you look at those bears elongated mushes and the clocks you can see how much the crafty bastard estaters have stretched the pics to make it look bigger.

Today I planned to spend some time sorting the garden out. I have already cleared the long grass in the woods on Saturday afternoon, so need to get the mower out today, but unfortunately it looks li,e it is going to rain. If it rains, I will have to sit on my arse and listen to music all day.
I have also quit QoBuz, I am contemplating another service, but don’t want to spend loads on it. I get Amazon Music Free, but not the unlimited service. I am contemplating Spotify again.

Today i........
....received my new to me Google Pixel 4 phone.
After clearly selecting "unlocked for any network" when ordering, you can imagine my surprise that the phone displays "This phone is locked to a Network" when i tried to set it up. Even more surprising is that the phone is locked to "Verizon" which isn't even operating in the UK.
I am not sure how this stuff keeps happening to me, but it does....maybe i should give up lol
Music Magpie (the vendor) don't appear to be in any rush to send me a return label, so i decided to have a little look at the camera etc. Seems a very decent phone and one that will do nicely....if i can get it sorted out.

You used to be able to take them down to a bloke at the market and he would unlock them for a nominal fee. Don't know if that's still possible though.

I didn't pay £300 to pay again to unlock it 🤣 I've just checked their stock and typically they don't have any more "pristine" phones. What a surprise!

It was only ever a couple of quid, I think in London they used to charge a tenner. I'm going back almost twenty years here mind.
Yeah they screwed up. Can't you just go on contract and get the 'phone chucked in? That's what I've always done and now I've got loads of them, enough to last me out.

I've always done the contract thing and my phone now, the Samsung galaxy S10 has been ok, but I don't like all the bulk software etc. I fancied a Google Pixel when the 3 came out but they wanted stupid money. I had some offers on eBay to take up and used them on the phone. £270 rather than £339.99 Seemed like a bargain. Had a ring around locally and no-one unlocks the Google phones 🥺

Oh well. I gave up being interested in having the latest phone when I quit the industry in 2004. I don't use mine except for the odd phone call - and the camera is handy too. I can post you a Motorola 7500 International if you want. Original box, with manual and charger, perfect condition. You'll need a sim the size of a credit card though. That was a top tier phone back in 1995.

I root my old kit and put the latest Android on with no bloatware. Last one I did was my old Samsung Tablet (Note 10.1) which was stuck on Android 4.4 (Samsung stopped any further development on these many years ago so it just sat there doing nothing) - rooted it and installed Android 11. Now good for a few more years Visit XDA-Developers site for more info.
