Long Covid is where you get a recurrence of the symptoms some time after having had Covid.
It can repeat, as I think is happening to me, but it's mild compared to the full infection. When you read of people having no taste or smell for 6-12 months that's all long Covid.
Unfortunately some people have a really bad time with it, something I wouldn't wish on anyone.

Having given this more thought, all you old blokes who are suffering, and a drain on the NHS, I'd bring in euthanasia, especially for those with 'Long Covid'. I'm off to warmer climes in a few days time, I'll leave you lot suffering in the cold, damp, dark winter months.

No Dave, this Long Covid is a thing, it's a condition that persists long after the patient has "recovered" from Covid itself. I don't really know anything about it, and I don't personally know anyone suffering from it, but the main symptom I'm told is a debilitating chronic fatigue, which can go on for many months.
Like with Covid itself, there seems to be no way of knowing whether or how much you will be affected, until you are.

It's got flashing lights, what could possibly go wrong? Nothing at all, it's perfectly adequate, as is their air ambulance, which looks uncannily like the one you have in your shed...

Let's try and leave the sweeping statements and ill-informed generalisations to the experts (the government) ey lads.
Lots of people on here will have been affected by COVID/long COVID call it what you will, easy to upset people banding around your own opinion. No one can know the true long term affects of this pandemic unless you have a time machine you're keeping to yourself.....
Just spare a thought for people possibly grieving loved ones/friends or even colleagues after the last couple of years and all that has entailed.

You can use all the search engines you want Jerry, but it is complete boll#cks as Gary says, just to scare you, it's post Covid syndrome which they don't know about. More likely it is just an individuals reaction to Covid. You were right, there is a lot of ignorance on this forum.

Understood Pete, With the above in mind please keep comments respectful and helpful if referring to COVID etc. Whether you're right or wrong regarding your own theories into an impossible subject is irrelevant when it's causing offence. I hate threatening to close a subject off from discussion fully as I'm a huge advocate of anything goes (or what's the point in free speech) so just think a bit before you post, if it only serves to reinforce your own belief by belittling someone else's, it ain't gonna fly. Cheers

The World Health Organisation has much to answer for, and people can be selective in their responses. Why were autopsies banned by the WHO initially? On the premise that it would stop the spread of infection.....FFS. Worked well didn’t it.
Last time I saw my Cancer Consultant we fell out, he was adamant he had a terminally ill cancer patient that died from Covid.....
How many people read the instructions from WHO on how to handle masks?

Well said Pete. I have many friends who have been severely affected by Covid and long Covid. We all have different beliefs and it is only fair that people are respectful and kind.

Cheers Gary, I get you're angry at a few different subjects, that's fine but this is just a thread for people to tell others a little about their days.... I don't really get what point you're trying to make except that you believe that various establishments (official and otherwise) have a lot to answer for. In general terms I agree with you actually. However, this isn't really the place for that level of questioning (the discussion while potentially interesting will just not lead anywhere constructive), we've seen it on other forums etc and it never ends well, ie; bringing up global warming etc. Mistakes have been made, everyone knows it but it serves no one to go over shaky ground when it's human nature to disagree, normally I wouldn't care and encourage discussion but the fact people are dead (for whatever reason) changes the context completely so can we just leave it there for now. Ta

I've not really got the energy or clarity of mind for a full strength statement, but I will say this:
Opinions on this subject vary widely, as they do on most things. However, the lack of awareness and sensitivity to other members personal experiences isn't acceptable.
The experiences of those who have lost family and friends to this illness, or those on this very forum, who I know to have been experiencing long COVID for 12 months now, is a far more compelling argument than reading conspiracy theories about banning autopsies and keeping people "in fear"
Leave it alone now please.

Like I say I don't really know what you're trying to achieve here but it's getting a bit childish and is offending a lot of members. You have some sort of agenda against any establishment and that's your right to exercise that view but in the interests of forum civility I need to ask that you cease your stance.
