A few People build bespoke machines based on it. Some look pretty cool.

Please forgive me for asking such daft question. Are there some CD Players. That sound similar like some of the well known turntables? When I say similar, I mean tone wise. S. Good (and common) Question posed by the OP. Strange why you never hear..... Are there some Turntables that sound similar to some of the well known CD players...!!! Not really for me to dive in again perhaps? What you should be asking (I think) is what turntables sound closest to the original recording as mastered. The trouble for me is that I've had many glimpses and gazes at the original recording 'sound' and where vinyl's concerned, wanted to get as close to this as possible. At an almost affordable price, NAS decks come close enough by and large and don't need stupid set-up routines unlike many/most springy belt drives (I don't just mean the LP12 either, as most of them from oracle to Michell need some messing with).
I still reckon a Spacedeck (usually the slightly dearer AceSpace and maybe with added 'heavy Kit') coupled with collet mounted RB330 (looks a bit odd with the tripod mounting hovering in mid air and (on experience with its predecessor) AT-F7, should be a bit of a giant killer...
The TW Raven looks smoother finished and used to cost AceSpace money I remember. Now it's six grand or so (why?), but it did sound good. Going right up, the Kronos decks are reportedly superb by any reproduction standards (A friend an ex-KJ colleague I trust who ditched his vinyl over twenty five years ago with no guilt, raved about it when KJ had an 'evening' to promote the brand) and the basic model is top LP12 system price too - look at the difference in engineering, external or otherwise..

I have SCPH-1002 fitted with AKM- AK4309AVM DAC.
The sound is OK, but nothing to write home about.

There are some fine sounding CDP's out there that do not have that dreaded digital bite. I for one prefer the sound of red book CD on a good CDP to any file based source. The older CDP's like the high end Denon's of the 90's still sound good.
Nothing digital will ever sound as organic and real as vinyl some come close very close, the valve output CDP's especially. Although an old CDP with a decent transport through a good Valve DAC will do the trick.
As much as I appreciate and enjoy my record deck and the way it plays music, sometimes the getting up and down to turn it over, change records, put it away, and the, scratch, scratch, click, click, the thing makes when I doze off freaks me out. (the snap, crackle and pop does not bother me, so used to it I do not take any notice.)
That is why am willing to compromise and listen to a CD most of the time.
