Yes, Decca DK30 ribbon horn tweeters. May be EMI mid and Fane bass units. Should sound nice. The DK30's are worth a few bob on their own these days.
The MS700 was superseded by the MS737 with the Decca London ribbon. Audio Al has a set.

I know one thing, Mr K: They look pretty ugly. On a scale of 1 - 10 - they'd get top score from me.
Being as poor as you are, I do hope you haven't wasted your money, Mr K...

Couldn't resist Geoff, don't know why since I'm in that age group, but as you know, you never feel your age.

First bigger M-S for me were the mid 70's Signifers. I gather the 700's were pretty good for the time though,

Ugly's ugly. And they're ugly. So, do you like speakers that look like high class prostitutes? S.

The comparison doesn't make any sense to me. Some speakers (Castle) are nicely made, nice to look at. Some are not. Attractive vintage speakers. And if I had a spare £4000 I'd buy a pair. And the less expensive JR 149s:

Are high class prostitutes like class A amplifiers?
I'd never thought about there being different 'classes' of brass.
Most brasses are minging. Although I suppose if you saw a class A brass you might not realise she was a brass...

What’s up with the Corals?

What’s up with the Corals? one has a stiff cloth surround which is not good,i think the dope used is watered down pva or similar, ive got to remove as much as i can to re dope. sadly its not something that a quick wipe over with meths will cure.

yes fingers crossed, they showed enough promise for me to want to build the better cabs for them, they have a lovely natural tone. macca was right, they dont do bass,in their current cabinets it like there is bits of music missing. if and its a big if,i can sort the surrounds out i wonder how they sound paired with the decca ribbon from the ms700's?
