Look forward to hearing the finished item! I'm told it takes about 1 week? How long did your 2M take? Mine took 2 weeks Oli because it was over a bank holiday and they were busy but it should take no longer. Killian kept me up to date with progress which was nice. |

Terrible stress levels lol I was encouraged after I read Robs experience with his Cadenza Black which was way more expensive than our cartridges and I was certainly not disappointed with the result. In fact I have another 2M Black that will go for the same treatment as soon as the stylus wears out as I could not go back to a standard cartridge. |

Well its done now and what will be will be, as they say. What's nice is that in have been offered 3 cartridges on loan......what nice members we have here 😊 I'll be digitally satisfied (eye eye!) For the next couple of weeks, so im hoping my gpio extender cable arrives and I can start putting my PecanPi plan together. |

Is it weird to have the tracking page open on the laptop, phone and tablet to go with email and text alerts?

In other news, I'm off the have a listen to a very interesting cartridge on Monday.
Kilian Bakker of Holistic Audio (where my Kb has been sent to) has a design of his own, based on the venerable DL103s innards, which I'm told only the magnet arrangement remains after hes had his way.
I'll know more on Monday so I'll report more on that once I've heard it

Supposed to have gone to physio bit the car has decided not to play ball so I'm stranded at home. Everyone else is at work.... Decided to save this from a late 80s Marantz Amplifier....I ripped the PCB off a while back but noticed it said "ALPS" It is if course a naked ALPS blue. This is a genuine jobbie, from Japan, as is the second one, although this one is slightly newer. The newer one has fared badly and looks to have lost the solder tabs. I think I'll break it open and see whether it can be saved   |

A bit more information on Monday.... As I alluded to, i am visiting a friend on Monday to have a listen to the Holistic Audio HA103SEL It has an Aluminium cantilever and an Onugura Highly Polished stylus. I'm not sure what the wood is but I'll find out. Price is €1895 so its certainly not cheap but I am very much looking forward to it.  |

Like the absolute bell end I am, I was only tracking the wrong parcel 🤣🤣
I wondered why the cartridge had "Landed at NYC depot"
Checked the reference numbers and yup....that's the Bigbottle PCB on it's way to a Guinea pig.
The Cart already landed this morning at Kilians door.
Relief ensued.

Seems the relief was a false dawn.......
The Kb has been inspected and it's not good news.
Kilian called me to tell me the Kb is on its last legs. Apparently whilst inspecting it, Kilian found a shard of metal lodged in the Left Coil.
Upon closer inspection, this shard has sat at a 90deg angle and behaved like a saw, cutting into the coils.
In Kilians words "it's about 90% through the coil, and will go at any moment. It will not survive much longer. It is impossible to repair and also impossible to upgrade the cartridge"
I am totally gutted.
The Kb has been a godsend and been my longest serving piece of equipment.
Kilian could hear the disappointment in my voice and couldn't apologise enough. It's not his fault, or that of anyone else, just one of those things, I said.
I chatted with him for a bit and decided that I had no idea what to do next.
So I bought one of his HA103SLE cartridges for €1900.
Love a gamble, me.
