It'll never get through. The vote was literally split between Republican vs Democrat. That's my point. If he beats this, which he will, it'll bolster his position no end, which makes me think it's a stunt.

So the Iranians (apparently) shoot down a Ukranian airliner. I suspect, probably in a panic response, mistakenly thinking the plane was an incoming US military air attack in response to Iran's almost simultaneous rocket attack on US assets in Iraq.
And this renegade, fanatical nation think they're fit to develop and control nuclear weapons? It would not surprise me if they would have used them by now if they'd had any. They need to be continually prevented from having nuclear weapons capability.

Although the US did shoot down an Iranian airliner (with the loss of over 200 lives) because they mistakenly thought it was an Iranian military attack. Maybe we should take the US's nuclear weapons away from them.

Have you considered moving to Tehran?

Friendly fire incidents are not uncommon in any country and are as old as the hills. It's the reason uniforms were introduced in about 1700 or thereabouts.
But I'd no more let the Iranian government have nukes than I'd let a six year old have an Uzi. They're nutters.

I would avoid visting the Philippines for now. Especially Manila or anywhere near the currently erupting Taal volcano.
Nobody has mentioned that the volcano sits in a lake or wondered why. I think Lake Taal is actually the remains of a former volcano caldera at the same site and was likely formed during a colossal volcanic explosion before recorded history. I'd not be surprised if the current activity is a precursor to a similar event. Manila is a big, busy place, but well inside any danger zone, being only fifty miles away.
We could see another Krakatoa here or worse, with global implications.

They seem to think they'll have enough warning to evacuate Naples - three million people. Good luck with that.

Basically, the monstrously hot flow cooked them! Nasty!!

I've wondered if massive storms can influence things like volcanic activity and earthquakes. Big atmospheric depressions effectively reducing overburden weight and causing uplift must surely have an influence. Not seen this mentioned anywhere though.

Oh dear. I was watching Grant Shapps on the news waffling about FlyBe in his new capacity as Transport Secretary. The bloke really shouldn't be in charge of anything more complicated than making a cuppa and he'd probably cock that up.

It must have been a challenge finding someone even worse than Chris Grayling, but somehow the Tories managed it.

Good job the Civil Service are there to do all the actual work then. The Minister is just for window dressing. Amazing how many people don't seem to realize that.

Although you could look at it another way, it's a club and those are the rules, don't like it then don't join.
It's like joining a Yamaha motorcycle club even though you ride a Kawasaki, and then complaining that the club does not cater for Kawasaki owners and needs to change.
It is amazing that they know what God wants though. You'd think with that sort of access to the almighty they would ask him what he thought about more important issues than a bit of shagging.

It does surprise me that this is still a mindset. The ancient Greeks, the fathers (and mothers) of civilisation, were incredibly promiscuous and didn't care too much for gender. They had sex with whomever floated their boat

Lol, so true. If you had access to God, what you you ask? Me, I'd ask why we are the only know planet with life. No, 3 questions. God is now a genie lol 1, Are there other planets with life 2, What is space contained in, if anything 3, Do grounding boxes really work I imagine the last one being the toughest to answer 🤣🤣
