How long are we allowed to keep hold of it?
I assume we send it on to the next person in the list once we are ready to move it on?

I think a week, or maybe two weeks is enough to get a decent handle on what something is doing. Once the week or two is up, then it gets posted on to the next person on the list. |

I'd say a week too, that's more than enough time to have a listen.
If you need more than that put yourself at the bottom of the list 😉
24hr delivery too, none of this 3-5 working day crap, that's just more time for it to get damaged, or lost.

Royal Mail Special Delivery will be around £18 if it's under 10kg, it's what I use for all my HiFi deliveries.
I posted my BB3 to the buyer at 1pm on Monday and it arrived before 9am next morning, which was good going, it's promised before 1pm so before 9am was great. Not sure if the PO gave me the 9am service by mistake lol

Ha, the last time I was on one of Oli's loans I was at the end of the list and ended up buying the item. I had better not get myself on this list. I'm resolutely going to keep convincing myself that my WD Phono3s can't be bettered.  |

I used UPS last year. Scared me when 2 different drivers turned up to collect. The 2nd driver said that was impossible as it was his round and no one else’s. Anyway.. stuff turned ok.
The only other time was sending a wedding present to the states with UPS. I tracked it to Michigan and then to a storage facility near Doncaster. Having sent it in September it did actually turn up back in Michigan in March.
So whatever happens I’ll be sending tracked !

Royal Mail Special delivery is RMs premium service and much safer and sometimes cheaper than PF, and it's guaranteed next day by 1300hrs, you can also pay extra and guarantee before 9am.
Just make sure the person at the PO chooses medium parcel or special delivery doesn't show as an option
Medium parcels are anything under 61cm x 46xcm x 46cm and allowed up to 20kg.
Don't let them tell you any different, because they're wrong 😉

The Avalon is now on its was to mayebaza and should arrive Monday morning. Postage with RMND and £2500 insurance was £18.05 with collection from my door. Please use this option when posting it between yourselves. stevew I will forward your address to Barrington for when he is ready to post it. |

Avalon arrived safely, picked up from local sorting office this evening. With a roughly A4 footprint weighing nearly 4kg this phonostage takes no prisoners. After doing a night's listening to my current phonostage, I will swap tomorrow and see what happens.
