Got to agree. To make enough batteries they will have to dredge the ocean floor for cobalt. This will spark massive environmental protests. Another blue Planet doc will put an end to it. Also replacing a set of batteries in an electric car costs a tidy sum. Probably wipe out a large proportion of fuel cost saving. Plus all the extra drain on the national grid. I'm pretty sure they will have zero polluting petrol and diesel engines within 10 years. Even at the high prices charged electric cars are loss makers hence Dyson pulled out. Tesla likely will never make a profit. 

Modern cars are very clean.

I read somewhere that a single ocean going container ship puts more crap into the environment than all the cars in the UK all running at the same time would. I suspect there may be truth in that. 

And, nobody ever seems to mention the filth churned out by aircraft. There are thousands of big jets flying most of the time leaving all sorts of pollutants behind them.

I'd love to see where the sparks are going to come from to charge 20 million cars through the night every night in little old England.

My cousin works at a petrol station and they work it out at 30 seconds per costumer at the tills with
6 pumps.
120 per hour and that's a minimum.
Now how the bollocks are they going to cope with electric cars ?
