You're an 'angel' Rudi. Weather not so good here this morning, and we've had rain over night.

St Ive's Crescent is less than a mile from me, over by the A12. Heading over to Harold Wood shortly to stop with my lady friend for the rest of the weekend, better class of person the other side of the A12 don't you know.

Met her grandsons from school 3 days last week and took them to that park to play football. Pitch and putt course is gone now, used to play every Sunday morning, an hour on the golf course then three hours in the pub 🙂

The Chequers was closed for some years & eventually demolished in 2017 www.friendsofdagnampark.org.uk/Union%20Meeting%20chequers%20Pub.htmUsed to use the Alma Arms quite a bit, lovely steak & ale pie.

The Crumpled Horn does a fair 2 course lunch for a fiver as well. Yes, the McDonalds is still there. Only 2 pubs on the Hill now, Saxon King in Petersfield Avenue & The Alderman near Hilldene Shops, both terrible dives full of people with nothing to say saying it too loud. The Bear is now called Deer's Rest.

I usually go down early before the 'creatures' have dragged themselves out of their pits but they were all hanging about outside the post office with their scabby dogs today. I'll be moving in with my lady friend at some stage, not sure where yet, we're still house hunting but Upminster's looking the most likely candidate. She'd prefer to stay in Harold Wood but there aren't any suitable properties coming up. I keep telling her to stay put but she wants to downsize & a developer has made a very good offer for her place.

how long you lived in harold hill roy. i bet a 3 bed semi is over 300 grand now aye Almost 58 years, Mum & Dad moved to Harold Hill from Poplar when I was 2. Bought my current house in 1999 for £87k would probably fetch £375k now, perhaps nearer £400k if I smartened it up a bit. There are a few different styles of 3 bed semis on the Hill, mine's the larger version with a 25 foot through lounge that used to be 2 rooms.
