I smoke and drink, never tried to quit, never been interested in quitting, make no apologies for it. Life is for living not worrying. I like the Dopamine hit that smoking gives me, so I am in no hurry to quit and that's an honest answer.
All of my attempts at giving up have been instigated by other people, like the wife and the quacks.

Don't like being totally pissed though, not done that for maybe twenty years! Seems I've developed an intolerance to alcohol now, so I'll have to avoid it completely. Bummer!!

Just having a Swedish lager called Wolf Warning. Man, it’s weird. Tastes nothing like conventional lager or any other beer. Anyone tried this or any other Swedish lager?

No it's all Polish beer round here. I asked the bloke in the off-licence if the local Poles bought much of it and he says no, they all drink Stella.
Don't think I've ever had a Swedish beer.

When I started drinking larger was for girls. I cannot understand how it has become so popular, real ale, or bitter in my day, has so much more flavour. I've never tried Swedish beer either.

Not had a proper drink in a while but got a mate staying with me so I'd got some booze in and he turned up last night with another load of it. Now got a bit of a hangover today because I'm not used to it.

I've never drunk very much, and for several years drank no alcohol at all. These days I average three pints a week, but not every week, and the occasional bottle of wine, which takes three of us a couple of days to get through. We also have an unopened litre bottle of Smirnoff we bought three Christmases ago.
My father used to drink whisky like it was lemonade once he retired. He must have been half-pissed for most of the last 15 years or so of his life.

I only drink Guinness. These days 3 cans will do me for a session on a Saturday night when I usually like to watch a fairly brainless film with couple of beers in me. Sometimes have one after me tea on a Sunday. Used to have 4 every night and 8 on a Friday and Saturday but I can't do that no more. Rarely drink spirits. Got half a bottle of brandy in but that must be 3 or 4 years untouched.
Funny how things change, when I first started working the pub would be packed at lunchtimes, everyone having a few pints and maybe a chaser then going back into work for the afternoon. No-one thought anything of it. Old TV shows as well, they're having a brandy or a whisky at the drop of a hat, any time of day. Half the people in the country must have been at least slightly pissed pretty much all the time.

Yep. One job I had in That London, the boss would march us over to the pub every lunchtime without fail. He'd have a few pints of Guinness, while I slowly drank a pint of bitter. Non-attendance wasn't an option. By the time I retired, lunchtime drinking was a no-no, apart from leaving do's.
When my brother worked on Merseyside, the drinking culture was at its height. He developed a tremor in one hand, and went to the doctor's. The doctor asked him how much he drank. 'Maybe ten pints' my brother replied. 'Is that ten pints a week?' the doctor asked. 'Oh no, that's ten pints a day' said my brother. 'Just weekdays though, weekends it's more like fifteen pints a day.' The doctor told him it was the onset of delirium tremens, and suggested he cut down a bit. Shortly after that my brother got engaged, and was off the booze completely.

Yes used to drink with a few like that in Liverpool. 4 pints at lunch then another 10 in the evening every day, day in, day out. I've still no idea how it is even possible to do that. And some of them were old boys, in their seventies.
